In a meeting with fellow House Republicans on Tuesday, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) agreed to run for speaker as long as the GOP met certain conditions. He wanted the support from the conservatives in his party, to make the process of ousting a sitting speaker more difficult and to have time to spend with his family.
