Beyoncé's live performance of “ Formation” at the Super Bowl may have been a showstopper that had all of social media abuzz but it was much more than that for the singer.

She was asked backstage, following her Super Bowl Halftime performance on Sunday, by ET correspondent Kevin Frazier to share her thoughts on what it felt like to debut the track live.

"It makes me proud," she said. "I wanted people to feel proud and have love for themselves."

Since its debut on Saturday, the nearly five minute music video has netted over 17 million views on YouTube and has drawn praise from some of Bey’s celebrity peers -- who applauded her for incorporating messages surrounding race and southern black culture.

In addition a new video, the Grammy Award winner also announced “The Formation World Tour," which will kick off April 27 in Miami.
