The Seinfelds Pay Touching Tribute To Garry Shandling

Shandling and Jerry Seinfeld were "dear, old" friends.

Jerry Seinfeld and his wife, Jessica, shared their love for Garry Shandling in a touching Instagram post Thursday after the comedian's sudden death.

"We have been crying/laughing/crying through Jerry's last day with Garry all afternoon," Jessica wrote alongside a screen-grab of Jerry and his late friend laughing together on "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee." "There is no better tribute and no better reminder of what a beautiful, gentle, BRILLIANT sweet angel Garry Shandling was."

The 20-minute episode, titled "It's Great Garry Shandling Is Still Alive," was released back in January. It showed the two cruising around in a 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo. Seinfeld introduced Shandling as "one of the first comedian friends of mine in LA." Their careers paralleled, from the Comedy Store in LA to "The Tonight Show" to their neighboring TV show sets.

Shandling died Thursday at an LA hospital, reportedly from a massive heart attack. He was 66 years old.
