For introverts, going to a giant social event sounds about as fun as walking through Times Square naked.
No one understands this fact better than NYC-based illustrator Dana Zemack, a self-proclaimed introvert who perfectly nailed the plight of the personality type in one comic. The pictures detail an introvert's ideal party escape kit with just a few "simple" necessities.
An introvert's aversion to parties doesn't mean they're a killjoy -- stimulating environments just aren't their cup of tea. Introverts tend to dislike idle small talk and prefer downtime, according to experts. Research also shows individuals with the personality trait don't connect to a feeling of reward (which happens in the brain) to their surroundings. When it comes down to it, their preferences may just be biologically wired -- and that isn't a bad thing.
