It's been about a month since North Carolina's General Assembly passed a bill banning cities and counties from protecting LGBT people from discrimination. Among the many limitations the bill puts on the LGBT community is that public schools will restrict people to the bathroom that coincides with their biological sex, not the gender with which they identify.
Despite boycott threats from PayPal, Lionsgate, the NBA, and Bruce Springsteen, nothing has changed. Lawmakers aren't getting the message. That's because the message about bathroom equality has yet to be taken to the most relevant place of all: the bathroom.
Okay, so I can't actually encourage anyone to vandalize North Carolina public bathrooms. But let's just say you happen to come across some funny bathroom graffiti condemning the recent bill that limits civil rights for LGBT North Carolinians.
