Robert Downey Jr. Visits Sick Kids At London Children's Hospital

Faith in Hollywood and humanity, restored.

Tony Stark may have "a heart of steel," but Robert Downey Jr. sure doesn't.

The "Iron Man" actor took some time away from his busy schedule to visit a few sick kids at the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London on Tuesday. Downey Jr. is in the U.K. for the European premiere of "Captain America: Civil War."

The 51-year-old posed with a young patient named Ethan, who made sure to wear a fitting costume for the occasion. According to People, the boy has the rare blood disease ITP as well as Type 1 diabetes.

GOSH shared photos from the visit on their Facebook page and thanked Downey Jr. for stopping by.

A big thank you to Robert Downey Jr for taking time out from promoting his new film 'Captain America: Civil War' to visit our patients on Lion, Giraffe and Elephant wards this week!" they wrote on their page. "Everyone (patients and staff alike!) was very excited. We’re very grateful to Disney for organizing such a superstar visit.

RDJ is just one of the many stars -- like Jennifer Lawrence, Adele, Johnny Depp, the cast of the "Ghostbusters" reboot and Chris Pratt and Chris Evans -- that have visited children with serious illnesses in the hospital or at their homes, in turn restoring our faith in both Hollywood and humanity.
