A chorus of boos erupted as NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell took the stage at the league’s draft Thursday night, with the motivation unclear.

Goodell, who has led the league since 2006, kept his game face on while announcing the Los Angeles Rams’ choice of California quarterback Jared Goff as first overall pick of the draft.

As soon as Goodell handed the spotlight over to Goff, the booing turned to cheers. Hmmm.

Curiously, unexplained booing has happened at previous years' drafts.

Goodell has led the NFL during numerous controversies, including player safety, criminal acts by players, Deflategate, player discipline, league finances, the Washington team's racist name, Spygate and incidents of domestic violence.
