A Connecticut man is behind bars after being accused of shooting up his neighbor's bathroom because the person using it was taking too long, according to NBC Connecticut.
Shawn Cummins, 22, was arrested early Sunday morning after Vernon police got a call about a highly intoxicated man at a local apartment complex.
Responding officers said Cummins was outside and highly intoxicated, but was taken into custody without a struggle, according to the Hartford Courant.
Police said Cummins went over to his neighbor's apartment to hang out around 2 a.m. At some point, he became upset because someone wouldn’t get out of the bathroom, according to Fox61.com.
Cummins allegedly showed his displeasure by taking out his 9mm handgun and firing one shot into the closed bathroom door.
The bullet barely missed the person inside, police said. The occupants of the apartment then yelled at him to leave.
Cummins went outside and shot another round into the outside wall of the apartment complex, according to Patch Connecticut.
No one was injured in this incident, according to a news release.
Police said Cummins had a valid Connecticut pistol permit and that his gun was registered, police said.
Officers seized the handgun as evidence as well as the pistol permit.
Cummins' apartment was searched after detectives got a search warrant. They ended seizing a .45 caliber handgun and a 12 gauge shotgun found there.
Cummins has been charged with a variety of crimes, including unlawful discharge of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct.
Cummins was being held on a $20,000 cash bond and is due in court for arraignment on Monday.
