This unofficial world record really raises the bar.

If you're trying to do a record amount of pullups, you might as well have the Force with you.

Andrew Shapiro of Langley, Virginia, trained for his attempt by practicing the exercise as he watched "Star Wars" movies, the Washington Post reported.

The result was out of this world. Shapiro completed 7,306 pullups on Saturday to shatter the 24-hour Guinness World Record of 6,800, the newspaper wrote. According to the description in a YouTube video posted by his father, Allen Shapiro, Andrew needed just 15 hours and 13 minutes to surpass the mark. Here's that moment:

He also set the 6- and 12-hour standards, too, along the way.

The records aren't official yet. A Guinness World Records spokeswoman told The Huffington Post Thursday that Guinness had received an application from Shapiro, "but we’ve yet to receive evidence for review."

Shapiro dedicated the feat to his father, who has battled stage 4 colon cancer and is now cancer-free, the McLean, Virginia, Patch noted. Shapiro raised thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society at the event, in coordination with Relay for Life.

The 17-year-old told the Patch he wanted to be on "American Ninja Warrior." We have a feeling he'd do pretty well on any obstacle that involves a pullup.
