Akash Vukoti, 6-Year-Old Spelling Bee Whiz, Will Blow Your Mind

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis? For real?

He may not have won the Scripps National Spelling Bee, but this 6-year-old Texan is already winning hearts around the nation.

Akash Vukoti is this year's youngest spelling bee contestant. Even though he's only in first grade, Akash has already gained national attention by appearing on Steve Harvey's "Little Big Shots" TV show.

Vox caught up with the wunderkind wordsmith, who shares his secrets in the clip above -- and even spells pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanocon­iosis. According to the Merriam-Webster Medical Dictionary, the word refers to "a pneumoconiosis caused by inhalation of very fine silicate or quartz dust."
