Sad!

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is not only promising to support Donald Trump, he's willing to actively work on Trump's behalf to defeat likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

In an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper on Thursday, Rubio said he would attend the GOP convention in Cleveland in July and even speak on the brash businessman's behalf.

"I want to be helpful. I don't want to be harmful, because I don't want Hillary Clinton to be president," Rubio said in the interview.

It's a stunning turnaround for the former presidential hopeful, who once was Trump's fiercest critic.

Days before he dropped out of the race, Rubio called the real estate mogul an "embarrassment" and said that the GOP would "pay a big price in November and beyond" with his nomination. He has also criticized Trump for having "no ideas of any substance on the important issues,” further describing him as an "erratic individual" and a "con man" who ought not have access to the country’s nuclear codes.

And then there's this interview from March, in which a dejected-looking Rubio railed against the man he has now pledged to elect.

Jeb Bush, the lonely #NeverTrump movement turns its eyes to you.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
