Naturally, there are multiple Beyoncé mentions.

The Panorama Festival is just a day away, and the acts are starting to descend on New York City for the three-day celebration of music, art and technology.

They do so amid one of the greatest years of music in recent memory. So we decided to ask many of the artists playing at the festival ― 22 in all ― about the best new song they’ve heard this year so far. Some answered the question a bit more exactly than others. But hey, what are you going to do?

At the bottom of the post, we’ve also included a Spotify playlist of all the songs that are currently available on the music streaming service. Have at it.

*****

1. Aurora (“Life on Mars”)

“Ritual Spirit,” by Massive Attack, feat. Azekel

2. The Black Madonna (“A Jealous Heart Never Rests”)

“Let a Bitch Know” by Kiddy Smile

3. Caveman (“Never Going Back”)

“Can’t Get Enough of Myself,” by Santigold ― Matt Iwanusa, frontman

4. Classixx (“All You’re Waiting For”)

“L’esprit de l’escalier,” by Domenique Dumont

It’s a perfect tune!

5. Daughter (“How”)

“Crisis,” by ANOHNI Elena Tonra, frontwoman

A new project forthcoming on the ESP Institute by The Hands. I discovered him in Bali, he’s quite the character.

7. Flosstradamus (“Prison Riot”)

“Ridin Round (Oshi Remix),” by Kali Uchis ― Curt Cameruci

“Mixtape,” by Chance the Rapper ― Josh Young

8. Grace Potter (“Stars”)

It’s just so hard because I don’t listen to a lot of new music. I mean, I just downloaded all of the Prince B-sides, given that Prince is one of my favorite people in the whole world. I had never heard “If I Was Your Girlfriend.” I really, really love it. I’ve also been listening to the soundtrack to an amazing movie from the ‘70s called “Blacula,” so I’ve been digging on that.

9. Jai Wolf (“Indian Summer”)

“Friends,” by Francis and the Lights, feat. Bon Iver, and Kanye West

I especially love the music video on that one. It’s super dope and minimal.

10. JDH (“The Lab NYC Set”)

It’s hard to think of a single song, but I’m a huge fan of what labels like Multi Culti and ESP Institute are doing, as well as Israeli artists like Red Axes and Moscoman.

11. The Julie Ruin (“I’m Done”)

“Ultralight Beam,” by Kanye West

12. Lindsey Stirling (“The Arena”)

“7 Years,” by Lukas Graham

13. Little Scream (“Love as a Weapon”)

I just did a few dates with Land of Talk. Lizzie played some new unreleased material and there’s one song that blew my mind. I don’t know what the name of it is. I don’t know if it has a name yet. But it’s incredible. I can’t wait for that record.

14. Netsky

“F + L,” by Point Point

A beautiful tribute to the Kanye classic “Flashing Lights.” These guys have been producing pure gold this year.

15. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats (“S.O.B.”)

“On a Desert Isle,” by C.W. Stoneking ― Nathaniel Rateliff, frontman

16. Oh Wonder (“Without You”)

“I Need a Forest Fire,” by James Blake

17. Preservation Hall Band (“That’s It”)

I really appreciate Beyoncé new album “Lemonade”... It’s important for music to have a meaning, a purpose, a message. It’s great when you can rock with a message like Beyoncé does on “Formation.”

18. Prinze George (“Victor”)

Isabelle and I are obsessed with “Lemonade.” Even if you’re not a Beyoncé fan, it’s hard to deny the strength of this album. Stand-out tracks are “Don’t Hurt Yourself”, “Sorry” and “All Night.” Kenny doesn’t want to give into the hype but I know he secretly loves both “Sorry” and “All Night.”

19. Rüfüs du Sol (“Say a Prayer For Me”)

“Identikit,” by Radiohead

20. Silversun Pickups (“Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance)”)

Brian: “Identikit,” by Radiohead — Brian Aubert, guitar, lead vocals

Truly unreal …

21. Tourist (“Run”)

“Drone Bomb Me,” by ANOHNI

22. White Lung (“Below”)

“Line Them All Up” by Black Mountain

Black Mountain put out a new record this year, “IV,” and the song “Line Them All Up” stops my heart. I am a huge fan of Black Mountain. I love every single one of their albums and I think Amber Webber has the most angelic, powerful voice in modern music. Everyone in that group is very talented. No one sounds like Black Mountain. I am always in awe of that band.

The Panorama Music Festival kicks off on New York City’s Randall’s Island beginning July 22, 2016.
