Shailene Woodley is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

The same day Variety broke the news that the final film in the “Divergent” series would be downgraded into a TV movie, the actress made an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con to promote Oliver Stone’s Edward Snowden biopic starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Of course, all anyone wanted to talk about was the unprecedented platform switch for the franchise, after the third installment, “Allegiant,” failed to impress critics and audience members alike.

“Honestly, I was on a plane when all that happened and I landed, and I’m like ‘Whoa, what’s going on?!” she explained to Deadline about how she learned of the news.

The 24-year-old later told reporters that she’s just as much in the dark as the rest of us and needed to “talk and find out what the details are” before committing to the project.

What we do know is that Lionsgate has reportedly decided to cancel its theatrical release plans for the “Divergent” finale, “Ascendant,” in order to help launch a new TV series inspired by the same post-apocalyptic setting. It’s currently unclear whether Woodley and co-stars Theo James and Ansel Elgort will return for the fourth film or the TV continuation, as Lionsgate has yet to formally pitch the projects to any networks or streaming services.

Woodley, for one, seemed to address the series of unfortunate events that placed her in front of reporters at the convention only hours after the “Divergent” debacle.

“It’s really convenient that we’re doing all these interviews now and I get asked this question [about ‘Divergent’],” Woodley said, according to E! News.

Yes, Shailene! DIVERGE!
