The force has awakened on the small screen.

At the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills on Thursday, the new president of ABC Entertainment, Channing Dungey, got the crowd buzzing with talk of a potential “Star Wars” television series.

As both Lucasfilm and ABC exist under the same corporate Disney umbrella, a series set in the “Star Wars” universe would most likely find its home on the network. And, according to Dungey, discussions about a potential project are already underway.

Umm, what?

“Oh, as a fan, I would absolutely love to say ‘Yes,’” she said, according to Entertainment Weekly. “The conversations with Lucas, we have had conversations with them and will continue to have conversations with them. I think it would be wonderful if we could find a way to extend that brand into our programming.”

But Dungey played coy when pressed for details about the series. Would it be live-action? How would it complement the current slate of “Star Wars” films? Can it just be about BB-8?

“It’s all a little bit hush-hush,” Dungey continued. “That company exists under a big shroud of secrecy. If you feel Marvel’s secretive, [Lucasfilm] takes it to a whole other level.”

Before she spilled too many secrets, however, Dungey told reporters that, although talks are “ongoing,” there’s no official timeline for the series.

“I can’t really talk about it,” Dungey reportedly told press after the panel. “I’m so sorry.”

Girl, you have nothing to be sorry about. You just gave “Star Wars” fans everywhere hope of seeing Jedis on a weekly basis. It’s time to celebrate.
