Preparing to vote this November just got way more simple.
Google on Tuesday unveiled a new “how to vote” search guide in an effort to assist voters ahead of the presidential elections.
Users only have to Google search “how to vote” or a similar query to find a straightforward info box that’s personalized to its user’s state. It then provides precise dates, information on what’s required and how to cast a ballot — either at the polls, via absentee ballot or by early voting.
The handy guide comes a month after they rolled out ways to help people register to vote. It preceded a million Google searches on voting and how to register, according to a Google blog post that announced the new guide.
“In fact, compared to the same time four years ago, nationwide searches for voter registration are up 190 percent nationwide,” their post says.
The search engine further provided a map of the U.S. that shows how searches for “voter registration” have changed between 2012 and today.
“You’ll find some of the highest spikes in the dark green states: California, New York, West Virginia, Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts,” they note.
