Jesse Williams Is On A Mission To Help Students Find Scholarships

The actor has joined forces with scholarship-finding app Scholly.

Jesse Williams is the gift that keeps on giving.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” star has teamed up with scholarship search tool app Scholly, founded by Christopher Gray, to make millions of scholarship dollars accessible to students and “make sure as many people as possible can pay for college.”

“The road to equality education, that’s littered with real and systematic obstacles in desperate need of repair, not the least of which is the expense,” the former teacher says in the video above, which he posted on Facebook on Wednesday.

The activist said he found Gray’s story inspirational and decided to join the company’s advisory board. Gray, who secured $1.3 million in scholarships himself, decided to create the app to make finding money easier for students like him. Since 2014, Scholly has helped students earn $50 million in scholarships.

“We are thrilled that Jesse Williams has joined our team at Scholly,” Gray said in a press release. “He truly understands the plight of those struggling to pay for college and why it’s vital to help them. His passion and educational background will help more students gain access to the funding they need to change their futures.”

With tuition rates and student loan debt increasing more and more each year, $2.99 isn’t a bad price to pay for Scholly’s full scholarship matching services (for iPhone, Android and the web).

“What we know is there’s no substitute for equal access and there’s certainly no substitute for equality education,” Williams says in the video. “Scholly helps us get there, together.”
