Back in 1984, PBS aired an educational series focused on science and math titled “The Voyage of the Mimi.” The show featured a little Boston boy named Ben Affleck.

“Luckily, I didn’t end up on a show and get famous and go on crack and go crazy,” Affleck told Jimmy Fallon during his “Tonight Show” appearance about his childhood acting days. Still, Affleck seemed a little defensive of the series in front of the laughing audience. Maybe it didn’t have the highest budget, but it taught American children important lessons about humpback whales.

“I still feel like I have to pitch it,” he said.

Some major A+ takeaways: the hair and the accent. Watch the whole clip above.
