Jimmy Kimmel became the newest character on “The Simpsons” on Thursday.

The comedian transported an animated version of himself through a television set to Springfield, where Homer Simpson himself gave him a whistle stop tour around the town.

The “Jimmy Kimmel Live” host took in most of the sights, including the nuclear power plant, Moe’s Tavern and Springfield Elementary School.

Kimmel even met baby Maggie and Grampa Simpson in the clip. Kimmel’s cameo celebrates the cartoon’s landmark 600th episode, which airs on Sunday night.

When the time came to leave, Kimmel said he’d always be inside the TV set if Homer needed him. “Hmm, TV,” Simpson replied, before morbidly adding, “A beautiful distraction from the certainty of death.”
