Of Course Tim Tebow Just Had A Game-Winning Hit

It might make a believer out of you.

When one fan called on him to throw a Hail Mary, Mets minor leaguer Tim Tebow delivered the baseball version. Sort of.

Tebow, the former NFL quarterback who’s now playing for the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League, hit a two-out, walk-off RBI single on Monday against the Mesa Solar Sox.

The struggling left-handed hitter slapped the ball to the opposite field to drive in the runner from third base and break a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the ninth. The Scorpions won, 4-3.

Poking fun at the religious Heisman Trophy winner, Deadspin quipped: “Jesus walked on water; Tim Tebow walked off against the Mesa Solar Sox.”

Tebow, who signed a minor league contract with the Mets organization in September after his football career stalled, is hitting .146 in the fall league.
