Guy Creates Purrr-fect Proposal With Help From His Adopted Kitten

It’s meow-gical.

A rescue kitten named Gandalf made one couple’s engagement that much more adorable.

On Nov. 23, Jerad Forsyth surprised his girlfriend of two years, Kat Woodley, with a proposal while they were adopting a kitten at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Erie County, New York, Cox Media Group reports.

Prior to the couple’s arrival, the SPCA arranged for Gandalf ― aptly named after silver-haired wizard from The Lord of the Rings ― to be wearing a customized tag that read, “Will you marry me?”

A shelter staff member handed Woodley the kitten and told her to take a look at the tag. Forsyth then walked over to her and got down on one knee. Naturally, Woodley said, “yes!”

The cute moment was captured in the video above. Woodley thought she was being filmed for an adoption video and not a romantic keepsake, according to a Facebook post by SPCA.

Congrats to the happy couple!
