Blue ACLU Ribbons Are The Stars' Best Accessories At 2017 Oscars

Solidarity in style.

The dresses, hair, makeup and jewelry took a back seat to a more meaningful accessory at the Oscars on Sunday.

Many of Hollywood’s brightest were seen sporting blue ribbons in solidarity with the America’s Civil Liberties Union. The non-profit, which is “devoted to protecting the rights of everyone in America,” has been a driving force in resistance to many of President Donald Trump’s policies and conflicts of interest since he took office.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the ACLU reached out to “all major nominees,” including “Best Actress” nominee Ruth Negga:
