Lesson of the day for men :
In a public restroom, do not, repeat, do not wave your hand under a toilet stall even if you dropped your wallet or passport or wedding ring there. A lot of strange surprises can happen, including your being arrested and losing your job and reputation !

I too feel sorry for Larry. Not because he chose to break to law by soliciting anonymous sex in a public place and then pled GUILTY to committing a crime. But because of his obvious painful cognitive dissonance. Imagine the pain the guy has suffered for over 25 years. It’s been his choice to live a false life, but think about it: He belongs to a party with a vast majority of members who preach that homosexuality is a disease and that homosexuals are to be ostracized, ridiculed, and confined to a different set of rights and laws.

When things like this happen, the first thing I do is visit Free Republic to see how the real extremists are handling it. They were reacting not only with “kick the faggot out” comments, but they were SO worked up with anti-gay fury that some threads morphed into “homosexuality should be outlawed.” They were serious, too. Now if you were a member of this party, and you didn’t want anyone to know that you had these urges, and your whole life is invested in a party that would never accept you if you revealed you were gay, what would you do? You might do everything you could to appear you “belong” including voting to the extreme to take away civil rights from gays. You might feel so guilty about being gay that you want to appear as un-gay as possible.

Now, about the airport bathroom thing. ABC news reported last night there are lists of gay hookup spots listed all over the internet including this airport bathroom. I am glad to hear that police are taking on this problem. I wouldn’t want my sons going into a public bathroom where anyone was having sex. But anonymous sex was Larry’s ONLY option. He could never risk having a lover blab someday. So some anonymous quickies were his only option. No wonder he cried out, “Nooooooo!” when the officer showed his badge. Isn’t that pathetic? Truly, don’t you feel pity for this man? I do. But then again, I’m a Christian.

I actually have great sympathy for Mr. Craig. I cannot imagine what kind of pain he has felt all these years in not being able to communicate his real self. Even this press conference, where it is so obvious that he is still running scared, to the point of lashing out and condemning gays, is a comment more on one man's lack of courage, a nation's lack of courage, more than the airport event itself. But there is a limit my understanding. And if his stance does not change, if he continues to make life difficult for others through his statements and actions as a lawmaker, if he does not learn from this, then he deserves this great personal fall and all the pain it can produce. Man needs to square himself with his maker. And then he will be redeemed.

Perhaps we can get Donna Summer out of retirement to re-record her "Last Dance" hit. Donna, forgive me.... Anna one, anna two!

Wide stance
wide stance for love
Yes, my toes are tapping
Need some romancing toniiiight!

I need you, by me,
Beside me, to guide me,
To hold me, to scold me,
cause when Im bad
Im so, so bad*

[* Lyric unchanged from original. Appreciate Donna's good writing, people!!]

So lets take a chance, see my wide stance?
Lets take a chance, take out your lance
Lets prance, I can't stance it no mo!

Oh, I need you, by me --
Hey, you, beside me? -- To guide me,
To hold me, to scold me,
cause when Im bad
Im so, so bad

So see my wide stance?
This stance, it kinda hurts actually
My toes are tapping, which means I'm
really man hungry toniiiiight!

Yeah, will you be my Mr. right?
Can you fill my appetite
I cant be sure
That youre the one for me
But all that I ask
Is that you not be undercover
Dance with me, tap your toes with me, yeah

Oh I need you, by me,
Beside me, to guide me,
To hold me, to scold me,
cause when Im bad
Im so, so bad

So, come on baby, dance that dance
Come on baby, take out that lance
Come on baby, I'm a United States Senator and can't miss my fliiiiight!!

Other renditions now being accepted...

Mr Craig is right, he’s certainly not gay. He’s actually a CLOSETED HOMOSEXUAL!

What Mr. Craig fails to realize is that it takes huge courage and honesty to earn the privilege to call oneself Gay.

Instead, Mr. Craig is doomed to his own worse fate; a life built on dogma, hypocrisy and lies

There's a lot of humor in this, but I'm sorry to spoil the party; there's also a very painful truth in this story. This pathetic man is a United States Senator with power and authority over millions of American's. We came close to having blatant prejudice written into our Constitution because of confused, misguided people like this.

We have too many leaders that are the worst among us instead of the best?

This is not at all about being Gay. This is about being unethical, sleezy, hurtful, disrespectful, etc., etc..

When is the American Right going to get real and be honest with themselves?

as much as its fun to watch this play out against such an hypocrit, WTF are police doing trolling the bathrooms for guys trying to pick up other guys? Is there so little crime that cops need to arrest guys for rubbing their feet? Guys do way more obnoxious things to pick up chix at bars every night. No one is arresting them. It's just ironic that a bigot was arrested because of bigoted legal priorities.

What gets me is he goes on tv and says shit like "I love my wife, I love my family, etc." As if a gay man couldn't love his family. He hates himself and lies to himself.

"Thank you all for coming out"...that opening line was striking and hilarious for all of its irony and pathetic because it showed his lack of courage in a crisis. I mean if there ever was something Freudian uttered, this must rank with the top of them.
Is this really the best that we can do in the United States Senate?

As has been demonstrated by the current regime, America doesn't recognize what is "best" for her. We are sold our leaders the same way we are sold toothpaste, and the rules for truth in advertising are laughable.

This self-loathing cretin needs 48 hours in a public bathroom stall with George Michael. Tap your feet to your heart's content. Feel the love, Senator.

"Thank you all for coming out today" is the kind of thing that leads jocks in high school to think it's socially acceptable to beat the shit out of the gay kid.

To me, this video is one of the most offensive anti-gay things that I've seen in recent months.

You all can go to hell if you liked this or saw nothing wrong with it.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with what Craig did. The only thing wrong was the difference between his behavior and his stated political opinions that he's championed in the Senate.

And to this putting the gay community "back decades". excuse me but do you want to be straight people who have sex with the same gender? Who else should be labeled perverts and thrown off the "mainstream gay" bandwagon? People who like leather? People who act too effeminate? People who like kinky sex or who are a little too open about their sexuality? How about people who go to clubs?

The solution that people put forward to things like this seems to be that the only gay folks who are acceptable are people who keep their mouths shut and only differ from straight people in wearing sharper clothes and having ear rings.

If the people who you feel set the gay community "back decades" had never been there YOU would not be able to be out right now.

It wasn't acceptable gay people who fought for gay rights, look into who exactly rioted at Stonewall sometime.

The issue here is not if a crime was committed or not. The bigger issue that while Senator Craig was been staunchly anti-Gay, he has been a practicing homosexual.

The fact is, if the Republican Party would get out of people's bedrooms and mind their own business most of this would be a NON-Issue.

Conservatives in Britain were very anti-Gay in the 1980s. After numerous sex scandles they have left that part of their ideology larger behind (no pun intended). When will the Republican Party catch a clue?

This will continue to be an issue for Republicans because THEY MAKE IT AN ISSUE. They made their own bed, now they can lay in it!

I don't know if Mrs. Craig was in on the scam or not. Is it possible she didn't know that Larry wasn't her own private Idaho?

Makes you wonder what goes on in those frequent flier lounges that many airports have. If I am EVER seated next to a republican politician it will be the first time I jumped out of a perfectly good flying aircraft. And it won't be because of someone inadvertantly throwing Bud Light out the door.
