In Sadr City, the Baghdad stronghold of anti-American Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, at least 10 more people were killed in overnight clashes, security officials and medics said.

How many more have to die before McCain's hundred years of 'peaceful' presence begins?

And next...Iran?

Thankfully, the Iraqis are taking a closer look. They remember how lies were used by the Bush administration to justify the attack against them. Check the link.

Folx,

please just write how angry this makes you - 5 years after mission accomplished.
Our kids dying for oil. Let's get comment count on this one to the same level (~7 000)
that latest RW article got.

Nothing could hurt the families and friends of those killed there than our national,
seeming complete and utter, indifference .

this is getting beyond sad.

Why is it that military families overwhelmingly voted for Bush/Cheney TWICE?

Are they sorry now that they did? Or do they think this is all for a good cause still?

Do they feel sacrificing their family members for oil is a good cause?

Don't worry, the same people that did that are going to vote for McCain. I am in Utah and all I hear of is Obama should have known. Nothing abut gas, the economy, McCain's adultery, just Obama's preacher

Not this military family. No no absolutely no. Bring our troops home!! Not one more life, not one more day, not one more dollar.

The Military will continue to be treated with disrespect by politicians as long as they keep supporting and electing Republicans. As a large majority of military families overwhelmingly elected George Bush TWICE, it appears they don't mind sacraficing their children, brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers for oil.

It was the SAUDIS who attacked us on 9-11, and it's also the SAUDIS responsible for escalating gas prices. Yet military families and "patriotic" Americans say nothing when they see George and Dick holding hands with and kissing these SAUDI MURDERERS and people who are actively trying to destroy our country!!

WAKE UP PEOPLE! YOU ARE BEING SCREWED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT BY YOUR OWN ELECTED LEADERS!

The troops have to keep on dying otherwise the ones who have died already will have died in vain. Isn't that what we keep hearing? Using that logic - we still have over 4,000 to go with the number rising every day. One of these days we will wake up and realize how stupid we have been to have gone along with this ridiculous notion of sacrifice and insist on an end to it - but I'm not holding my breath.

I am so sad and sorry to be a part of this. All my working life my tax dollars have contributed to the death of innocent people,,,now my children are adults and their money is a contribution to torment and terror for others. Is there any one here who thinks they even have a shot at heaven, should it even exist. Where else can we go to live?

The MSM should be ashamed of how they've stopped reporting on the soldiers. I guess the only way they'll get coverage is through a visit from Rev Wright.

I'm sure after A-hole GWB says a few solemn words in front of the press during the 4 photo-ops
that will occur while he's presenting each of the slain marines' parents their respective gold-star,
he'll become all choked up, and after the 4th gold-star is presented, will then, after getting back
onto Airforce 1, fly back to DC and quickly forget the entire incident ever occurred.

I suppose that we should be thankful for the deaths of more Americans as it keeps those who have previously been sacrificed from having died in vain. Another day, more violence, more death, more money disappearing into neoconmen's bank accounts-the "surge" is working.

The least we can do is deny our votes to those who supported the start of this war: McCain and Hillary.

Agreed. Hillary hasn't offered a sincere apology, has voted for the Kyl/Lieberman act and threatened to obliterate Iran. She'd vote 'yes' for the Iraq war again given the chance.

HuemSkeptic...you hit it right on the head. YES!! We're talking judgment here right? Let we the people use ours and denounce the mindset and hubris that those in power think they can spin in order to win votes...continuing to use our soldiers as political props. It is disgusting and unforgivable.

Killing and death go on. And, yet, roughly half the American electorate are supporting Presidential candidates who voted for the start of this fraud called Iraq war.

How can you be sorry for the death of these soldiers and not hold those who supported the war accountable?

How?

What is your rationale?

How do you deal with your conscience?

How else do you hold Hillary and McCain accountable if not by denying them your vote?

So, don't come here on an anonymous blog and express your sympathy and your sorrow for these deaths, and your anger at Bush. Bush is getting away with murder, and we have been unable to do any thing about it. But, you still have your vote. Do something meaningful with it.

If you don't, you are to blame for more of the same that would come in the future. And you won't be able to blame Bush then.

You would have no one but yourself to blame. You would have become enablers of mass murder and crimes against humanity, just as Hillary and McCain did with their Iraq war vote, Levin Amendment and the Kyl Lieberman Amendment.

How would you deal with your conscience then?

You're absolutely right. Neither George W. McCain nor Clinton should even be considered for president. Barak Obama is the only viable candidate because he saw through the idiot's imbecilic plan from the beginning and said so.

The deaths of these poor people are the result of decisions Clinton and George W. McCain and Bush made to go to war and to continue the war. Neither McCain nor Clinton is fit for office as a result of their complicity in thoise decisions.

Hat tip to the person who taught me about calling McCain "George W. McCain." GW McCain is a very apt name.

Hat Tip to HumeSkeptic for clarifying my muddled thoughts: I am fully for Obama now; before I thought that Clinton should be the nominee because she could better fight the Swiftboaters but Obama is the only presidential candidate on the stage now; the others are politicians and at least one of them is cognitively-impaired.

I am still very concerned about the swiftboating of Obama for his name, the color of his skin and the fact that he is intelligent and a good communicator.

"They're volunteers, So". This is five deferment Dick's response to those needlessly dying in Iraq for the phony war for profit in Iraq. Bush's enablers in and out of congress always minimize the numbers of our servicemen and women killed in Iraq in order to dupe the American people into believing that his idiotic "war" has legitimacy. It is a tragedy of galactic proportions that our soldiers and marines are dying for lies, deceit and chicanery and that death and destruction approaching genocide has been visited upon the citizens of Iraq without any real concern on the part of the media and the public at large. The criminal negligence of the Bush administration prior to and during the attack on 9/11 has been transformed and processed into creating fear and anxiety for the purpose of political and military and economic power for greed and profit. How else could a war now approaching a trillion dollars in cost against a country that did us no harm, in turmoil, without an air force or navy and an army that would rather run than fight, but with an exploitable natural resource could continue without end?
