Running out of high-dollar donors, Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign is stepping up its Internet appeals in hopes of attracting enough contributions to keep afloat financially in the last stretch of Democratic primaries, aides say.

As the marathon money chase has strained the limits of traditional campaign fundraising, Clinton aides have sought increasingly to shadow rival Barack Obama's Internet juggernaut that has raised more than $112 million via the Web,

Through March 31, Clinton had corralled 70 percent of her $148 million in individual primary donations in amounts over $200, including $82 million from those giving between $1,000 and the maximum of $2,300, according to an analysis by the nonpartisan Campaign Finance Institute.

Now, a senior Clinton fundraising operative confided, big donors are nearly tapped out.

People who refer to Barack Obama as "Barry" are just as obnoxious as the people who refer to the other candidate as "Shrillary," "Shillary," "HilLIAR," and so forth. Surely it wouldn't kill us all to keep an adult tone to the discourse. Their names are Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. The issue is the nomination, not who can scream louder or make up ruder names.

"Obama has led the way, first pioneering the creation of social networks that Malbin likened to 'the electronic equivalent of precinct organization.'"

Obama's strengths come from the very fact that he is not an entrenched Washington insider. Ironic that those 'seasoned politicians' are now following his lead.

D'oh! Sorry about that. The comment was meant for the post below yours. Now I'll have to chastize myself for not reading carefully enough before posting.

Who called it a horrible thing? It's a neutral report about the social networks BOTH candidates are relying on. Did you read the full article?

Give me a break - Clinton using the internet to try to get donations - oh the horror (sarcasm). Obama does it and it's okay - double-standard and desperation for the writer to have something to write about.

No wonder people don't trust, like or respect MSM and journalists/writers today - any talent out there? It's needed badly.

latest polls from Insider Advantage which has been the most accurate (only underestimated Clinton win by 3% in Pa and dead right in Texas)):
Indiana : Clinton 47% Obama 40%
North Carolina: Obama 48% Clinton 45%

If we do believe all the posts here then the conclusion would be:
I guess Clinton does not need that much money to perform, whereas Obama needs more!!!!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:35 PM on 05/05/2008

OF COURSE he needs more. He needs more to fight against a big name political machine that uses corrupt organizations like Women's Voices Women Vote, made up of Clinton partisans.

The Clintons should be wiping the floor with the 'unknown'. He's winning and will continue to hold his lead until the nomination. ;-) That's the TRUTH.

Humm let's see, all Clinton supporters are corrupt even though they are democrats!
Hummm well I guess Obama and his supporters are definitely uniters and not dividers!
Imagine if Team Obama is dividing the democratic party with such statements, just imagine how they will unite the country!!!
Obama keeps talking about reaching across party lines, yet he is hammering one of the least conservatives (McCain) from across the aisle!!
Doesn't add up, sounds like can't disown , must disown switch type behavior!!

her site has a rank of 4611 not an average daily view of 4611!!!!
She is the 4611th most viewed web site in the USA!!
Wow!!!
look up espn they have a traffic rank of 70 that means they are the 70th most viewed web site ni the USA! Not that they only have 70 people viewing their web site per day!!!
and as a closer just for the fun of it look up the ranking Obama's site!!
Obama supporters make whole arguments based on wrong facts!!

How about we learn some basic English over in HillaryWorld? How about you just keep jumping around following polls, and us Obamacans will keep preparing ourselves for the first co-Presidency between the American people and our President since, what, FDR? JFK? Go back to your caves, brush up on the old grammar, and maybe she can try again in 2016...unless of course, Bill is inaugurated as a Sultan of Dubai, or a member of the Chinese Communist Ruling Party.

co-Presidency? I guess it confirms Obama supporters are a cult following!
JFK did not run a co-presidency, nor did FDR!
A co-presidency is like you have now with Bush and Cheney!
Unfortunately you will never find out how Obama would change once he gets the power, since he will not make it to the Presidency!
Sort of like how he "flip-flopped" on the disowning Wright issue, he will flip-flop on you!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:27 PM on 05/05/2008

No, a co-presidency is what you would have if you let the Clintons back in the White House.

I don't care about Rev. Whatshisface anymore. I'm over it.

Any Presidency is supposed to be a symbotic relationship betwixt the President, and his people, via grassroots efforts of the constituents of Congressional Representatives and Senators. Your lack of political savvy is apparent, and it should embarrass you. Bush/Cheney is not a co-Presidency, but the standard configuration of President and Vice-President, set up for the purposes of checks and balances, and possible succession issues. Presidents and Vice-Presidents must still serve at the leisure of the people, as opposed to the leisure of corporations, political agendas, or jingoism....which obviously Bush/Cheney have not done properly, nor had any intention of doing, from the outset.
And I would prefer a flip-flopping Obama anyday over a liar and a profiteer, or an avowed Warpig. The comments you make here on HuffPost are pointless, and scream of a lack of deep intellectual understanding of the system put in place by our forefathers. If you are frustrated, I suggest you go take a walk someplace and clear your head...maybe give HuffPost a little rest...it's starting to stress you out what a true and tangible movement Obama has created with his insppirational campaign platform. If he sprouted horns and levitated above the stage playing Led Zepplin music, I would still vote for him come November before i would vote for HRC or McMummy...that's just the way it is.

one of the most amazing things to me of the Clinton Campaign
is that they honestly have seemed oblivious to the fact that we are in The Internet Age

they have not stopped to realize how simple it is for voters to turn to YouTube and Google
and see the discrepancies and "misstatements" from day to day.

Are they still living in 1992?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:26 PM on 05/05/2008

You youngsters really slay me. You have the Audacity to claim that we Hillary supporters are living in the past, yet you claim that because BO was against the war FIVE YEARS AGO he's somehow relevant now?

Besides there was nothing wrong with 1992! I dare you to claim the Clinton years were somehow flawed. I was alive in 1992, unlike you Obamatrons......I remember how everything was sweetness and light! It can be that way again if we only have the Audacity to choose Team Clinton!

You Obamabots may have your fancy "technology" and "innovation" of the "Internet Age" (which we wouldn't have if not for Bill Clinton) but the Clintons have much more. The Clintons have Political Muscle, a fearsome Political Machine, and a devastating drive to regain control!

Watch and learn, Obamamaniacs!

Take a walk over to hillaryclinton.com and check out the little red box at the bottom of the first page. Notice what it says? That's our destiny folks.

Ann...fancy "technology" in CA, I was alive in '92 as well. Voted for Bill twice. Defended all his extremely embarrassing actions, and Hillary's too, for eight years. Was relieved to get them out by the skin of our embarrassed teeth. It was not all sweetness and light. It was one long, lawsuit-infested, lie-filled (he admitted his lies), rent the Lincoln bedroom, pardon criminals fiesta. The Clintons are NOTHING like you portray them and now, I cannot stand the sight of them. Oh, and we really did land on the moon. All that fancy "technology" that's been around for a while now.

I guarantee you I am older than "Ann"

I have long suspected our dear Ann has ulterior motives
I could be wrong, sure, but he/she/it has been pretty revealing

Wow. I mean, WOW. These supporters sound like they use cans and string to communicate. And, Bill Clinton invented the internet?

Just sell your house and give Hillary all your money. Her $100M isn't enough, she needs all your money too. Send her every cent you have. You could try Western Union since you seem uncomfortable with all that fancy "technology".

No, the sickening "sweetness and light" can be seen on www.hillaryclinton.com .
The Bill Clinton "wonder years" (with him as Corky) were a travesty of epic proportions, as is evidenced by the AEDPA (look it up on Wikipedia), which was the precursor to the REAL ID ACT, Patriot Act, and President Bush's use of Executive Letters/Powers, and to launching a 6 year war with no real Congressional backing. Clinton all but sold the White House to Communist China, as is evidenced by the numerous ChiCom scandals involving Norman Hsu, Norinco Industries, and the rampant proliferation of Chinese scientific/corporate espionage enabled by the Clinton administration. By far, Clinton and his "wife" were the worst political version of Bonnie and Clyde, from the same general area as that nefarious duo; but with enough sense to do it with politics instead of tommy guns.
I have "watched and learned" . I now know to distrust business as usual, and the antiquated theory of picking "the lessor of two evils". Never again will I subscribe to politics as usual, Bush/Clinton "dynasties", rampant jingoism and deprivation of civil rights, or base profiteering by DIS-BARRED attornies, or multi-billion dollar "foundation" benificiaries. I simply won't be fooled again, nor will I contribute to any political party, or even vote, if this last and most important great American election is allowed to be hijacked by Bonnie and Clyde. I'd rather move to Iceland and live free and unencumbered by vandals, profiteers, and Warpigs.

Can a "congenital liar"
Who can dodge sniper fire
But can"t pump her own gas
Fix America"s flat tire?
Why do pundits keep giving her a pass
But keep Barrack in his Jeremiah quagmire?
Better ratings if they make the race last
Wright to the convention wire?
Now she parrots McCain"s call
To suspend the gas tax,
And then she has the gall
To drop the "elitist" ax
On any and all
Who disagree with "her" plan.
Now she"s threatening to obliterate Iran?
Spoken like a true, non-pansy, testicular man!

Dear Obama supporter put the obliterate Iran thing in perspective:

She was asked if Iran had gotten nuclear weapons and had attacked Israel (If you look at the size of Israel, it would not take too many too obliterate them) what would you do?

I guess Obama would then just give a great speech on race (that he would then disown several weeks after!!) so that his supporters would feel empowered from the bottom up!

Not to sound like an echo of the others already posting,...

But,... this idea 'just' dawned on her? Dean was doing this quite successfully in 2004, and Obama has been raking it in this go-around via the internet.

I guess when you figure you are going to have the nomination sewed up in February - ya don't have to plan for a May Campaign?

I view this lack of planning on the part of Hillary Clinton as yet another reason one should not want her as President.

"The general who wins a battle makes many calculations in his temple ere the battle is fought. The general who loses a battle makes but few calculations beforehand. Thus do many calculations lead to victory, and few calculations to defeat: how much more no calculation at all! It is by attention to this point that I can foresee who is likely to w in or lose."

Hillary's backers tapped out? Shurely not! She told us only this week that her base was 'wider and deeper" than Obama's, and with a base like that, she must be raising far more money than mere mortals with lesser bases, like Barack Obama.

Initially, I was being facetious about the Hillary Clinton folks, but after reading their posts after posts, these people are truly suffering some type of psychosis. They are accusing anyone and everyone who states the facts, as to what Hillary and her campaign are employing, to damaging to the DNC, hate mongers and smear spreaders, etc. Yet, no one mentions Sidney Blumenthal. I am really starting to feel that after this process, most of these people will be hospitalized.

I am not being facetious; I am being dead serious.
