Rev. Jeremiah Wright's appearance at the National Press Club last week definitely pushed him back into the spotlight. Last week he "generated more news than both Hillary Clinton and John McCain," according to a new study by the Project for Excellence in Journalism.

In the week of April 28 to May 4, Clinton appeared as a significant or dominant newsmaker in 41 percent of the campaign press, with McCain at just 14 percent. However the Wright/ Obama relationship alone factored into 42 percent of stories.

Just shows the media knows the largest loony brings in the biggest ratings. And apparently Wright is more of a loon than Hillary.

Sorry folks Obama wont be swift boated, Gore got swift boated, Kerry got swift boated and look what we got because of it. Well not this time.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:47 PM on 05/06/2008

Gore got swift boated, Kerry got swift boated and Obama got Reverend Wright.

Obama has scared the devil outta the media and threatens the status quo. They are afraid of the big broom he is bringing to Washington and business as usual. Once they saw that his support was broadbased and growing like wildfire and had a real chance of winning, everyday has been focused on "What will it take for him to lose" or "Can he reach the mythical white, blue collar voter."

Instead of reporting the news the MSM feels compelled to make up the news.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:33 PM on 05/06/2008

Can we trust Obama to choose the next supreme court justice? He is obviously he has no ability to make a competent judgement of character.

On Rev Wright, first he says, "I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can disown my white grandmother."

Then says later, "And, so in that sense, what became apparent to me was he didn't know me as well as I thought he did, and I certainly didn't know him as well as I thought I did."

Is this the kind of flip-flopper we want making this important decision?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:32 PM on 05/06/2008

Well, I sure don't want someone who fantasizes about starring as Rambo in her own fantasized Adventures in Bosnia!

And I sure don't want someone with a husband who explains away her lies by saying she is too old and too tired to remember the truth.

And I sure don't want someone who talks down to voters by offering them $10 a month for 3 months, which might or might not come true, in lieu of actually doing anything to lower gas prices.

And I sure don't want someone who degrades the opinions of economic experts and scholars throughout the land whenever they disagree with her.

And I sure don't want someone who voted for the war in Iraq (or Viet Nam II) and then tries to deny it.

And I sure don't want someone who is divisive and polarizing.

Wait ..........................this is all one person - HILLARY!

Better than a woman who can't choose a worthy husband.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:51 PM on 05/06/2008

the media should cover Reverend Wright. Obama has never answered why he didn't break off his 20 year relationship with him years ago.

People believe he holds Reverend Wrights views and I have serious questions about that as well.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:28 PM on 05/06/2008

I'm sure you do have questions that haven't been thoroughly answered to your satisfaction during the past month of nearly constant coverage.

What about a new television channel - 'All Rev. Wright, All the Time' with 24/7 coverage?

What about requiring all voters to take, and successfully pass, a 3-4 page quizz on Rev. Wright before they are allowed to vote?

What about making a course on all that is Rev. Wright part of the mandatory public school curriculum?

I am so tired of Rev. Wright. This is all they have against Obama and they run it to death. People sit and listen. I don't not watch it anymore. There is no way I will listen.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:26 PM on 05/06/2008

The media is terrified that Barack Obama will be our President and it's going to happen no matter how many times they play and replay the Rev{?} Wright nonsense. How stupid are the American people to judge Obama on this pathetic media garbage. Obama is the demoncratic nominee no matter what; it's too late. Come on people, don't let the media off the hook. It's a disgrace. We in America are lied to all the time and we think we are the most superior of all countries. Not so!

Either the Clintons are blackmailing some top officials in the justice department from exposing this case in public and her on tape, or our justice department is truly the dumbest branch of government, and Gonzo is gone! People need to wake up, how do you think the GOP will handle this and many other really truly bad things that the Clintons have done? Gee, wonder how she's gonna run the country from prison???

Grannysue,

Don't you see, they do not a biracial man as POTUS. Hillary could kill someone and they would still vote for her. I know you guys are not crazy.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:27 PM on 05/06/2008

I had NO problem with the media covering the Wright story.....it IS a legitimate issue as it relates to Obama's judgement, however I was very irratated at the amount of coverage, and actually found myself asking...."what did Hillary do/say today?".....

I knew I was correct that they pretty much ignored her campaign until the gas tax proposal....and then focused negatively on her....again.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:57 PM on 05/06/2008

What judgment. The man is a pastor, who's gonna really put him in his place?

I still don't get the Wright issue.

I am very close with my boss. I worked with him for 17 years, and I still have no clue whether he's a DEMOCRAT or Repuke! Is something wrong with my judgment?

Obama's church life has nothing to do with his politics.

My man is a hardcore Hillary supporter and I am a Obama supporter. We lived together for years.

Strom Thurmond was the biggest racist. Trent Lot adored him and even praised him. Lot is bush's buddy. Did everyone go around calling Bush a big racist??

This is so ridiculous.

The point is that it's his pastor, not his God.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:15 PM on 05/06/2008

Is there something fundamentally wrong with a person who remains in a church whose pastor says or does some things you disagree with? Please explain to me how that is the case.

And then explain to me what is wrong with the judgement of all those Catholics that remain with the Church after the pedophilia and coverup scandels.

northeast73,

Why? Why? Why are you saying that by Obama picking a church relates to his judgement? What about Hillary/McCain's church? Let me ask another question, why is Obama the only candidate when choosing a chuch plays into his judgement? I am so sick of people that are so stupid, they cannot think for themselves. Obama went to church, you act as if he was there every Sunday for 20 years. The church has over 7 sermons on Sunday and they are not all given by Wright. In addition, since you have not heard 20 years of Rev. Wright's sermons, why are us assuming that all of them are alike? Do your pastor preach the same sermon every Sunday?

I am calling into question your judgement and the judgement of MSM. You guys don't need to speak or write because you all have serious problems.

For the deserved reason that her words/actions deserve to be criticized for
a) Economic incompetence and
b) political pandering of the cheapest variety.

Since she claims to have the best ideas on policy, that makes it relevant.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:35 PM on 05/06/2008

No surprise here. Move along and listen to what they tell you.
Seriously, there is very little independent media left in this country. The media has all been bought out and run by the big powers that want to run every little thing in your lives. They should actually be called the propagandists rather than the media.

This america was built based on religious freedom - american people have voted for various presidents whose religious backgrounds they did not agree with - why is it that Obama's religion is being selectively disparaged - How a pastor, priests, buddist, reverend, rabbi, mormon or any other head of church interprets and applies their bible for their congregation can be acceptable or unacceptable to americans, but when it becomes the determining factor in selecting a president then america is traveling down a very scary road - the media has played a huge part in this separation of americans based on race, religion and gender - I hope this is the end of this because we cannot be the united states if we try to divide and conquer based on race, religion and gender -

Time"s pendulum moves BetWeen Good and Evil
Through shades of glory white, gray, greed, and war
Ignorance is found among those in all nations
Who reduce "the other" to either and or.

Impoverished minds see in white vs. black.
Find vulnerable scapegoats to justify their hate.
You are Evil; I"m Good; You are Woman, Black, Muslim, Jew; I"m Man
Swap compassion for ego and turn ashen our fate.

At best they are soft-porn entertaiment for Right Wing Nuts.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:45 PM on 05/06/2008

They love making fun of black people. Bush starts a war that gets 4,000 soldiers killed and the media can't stop talking about what a black minister said. Has he killed anyone? Has he desecrated the constitution? He has no real power to hurt anyone. Now this is what's wrong with out country. And we think we are so much better others.
