A spokesman for Rep. Heath Shuler, who had pledged his vote to the winner of his North Carolina district, tells my colleague Amie Parnes that "he has pledged his super delegate vote for [Clinton], since she won the popular vote in the 11th District."

He throws yet another bad pass. Now I know why he didn't make it in the NFL.

Whew! Thank the powers that be that I live in the Tenth District of NC (well not really I have a GOP representative.) If he feels obligated to vote the way his district did, I hope that all super delegates serving in congress will do the same. Pardon me if I do not hold my breath until they do.

Um... was he the one crying no fair on CNN last night...please.

Shuler doesn't count. He's not really a Democrat. He's a Bushocrat.

Have any of BO's supporters figured out how he is going to unite all of America while flat out ignoring the 2 million plus Americans who voted in Michigan and Florida? If he is elected president, will we have to pull out the old USA flag with only 48 states?

If any bloggers from Michigan or Florida are reading this post, please advise how you feel about being completely snubbed by what appears to be the Democratic nominee.

I voted in the Florida Dem primary - and I don't feel I have been snubbed by anyone. The Republican controlled Fla. legislature moved the primary date, and dems went along with it, knowing they would forfeit the delegate seats at the convention. I voted knowing that would happen - doesn't matter - Barak is trouncing Hillary in fundraising because he is running a positive campaign - that's why I voted for him, and that's why Hillary can't "close the deal" Barak said "I don't just want to end the war - I want to end the mind set that got us there in the first place." Hillary can't legitimately claim to have opposed the war from the statrt, and certainly cannot claim to be capable of changing the D.C. mind-set - her campaign reveals every day that she is part of the same ol' ---t.

Get your facts straight nobody snubbed Florida or Michigan. Those states' party officials screwed it up. However, even though it was agreed to by all parties involved, they most likely will still get counted.

News reports are that Obama and his staff have said they will work to come to some agreement with the Clinton camp on recognizing Florida and Michigan voters - despite the officials of those states having reneged on their original agreement with the party. Howard Dean and other party reps have issued similar statements.

Well I was about to type about the same thing then I saw your post mmiddle. You have crystallized my thoughts eloquently.

Do you want to shift the "goal posts" again Alexis? I think we have enough vigor to handle it. Next time just tell us the final position of the "posts," it is simply less tiresome to not have to stop and start again so often, we need the energy to start rebuilding the country and the world (if you do not mind.)

Ummm... can everyone chill out on the negativity here?

He gave his guideline for his super-vote, and he's sticking to it. That's respectable.

He needs to keep his job. This endorsement has nothing to do with electing a democratic president.

Look, every super delegate has a vote and they have a right to use it. And one should not discount for the fact that they are some part people an not all political machine. If I weren't sure that some of the Obama I see is some of the real Obama, I wouldn't be voting for him. Indeed, I am voting for him because I truly believe that he is more sincere than your average guy on that stage.

Now, if a super-delegate is still supporting Senator Clinton, you have to assume that it's the real part of him doing what it deems the right thing to do. Because the political machine part by now has figured out that there is no hope and any further support of the Clintons will be expensive.

I don't expect to see a 100% Obama turnout. I don't want it. I want honest voting from here on. Senator Obama will win just fine with honest voting. Why? Because he won the majority with honesty in the past. Let the supers do what they want to and we will have an honest election with no hard feelings at the end.

A: There's no bread left!

Its true some are waiting till the vote is over so they have an excuse to come out for who they want if the vote goes their way. But its just prolonging the end by doing this. He has to know its almost over. At this point i think she is just trying to look viable enough to get some more money and pay off some bills.

Let's give the Clinton campaign some credit here, because they really tried to do their best, but Obama is just better at everything and it is over for them.

Shuler is not a factor, but it's clear that just like his NFL Career, he is making the wrong decisions.

Congrats, Heath. you've made yourself a laughing stock again.

Wow, talk about political boldness (i.e. stupidity). What politician in his right mind would endorse Hillary on the day when her campaign is officially sinking like the Titanic? Heath is showing the same kind of judgment as a politician as he showed as an NFL QB.

I was thinking that.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:28 PM on 05/07/2008

Expect this from most House members. They have to do what's in their best interests and if they're up for reelection and the people in their district voted for Hillary, then they would be stupid not to endorse her. Senators have it better since 2/3 are not up for reelection this fall. So even if they endorse a candidate they're state didn't go for, the voters may get forget about it by the time that Senator is up for reelection. Same thing with governors.

I think particularly newly elected congressmen and women need to go with their constituents, or they may not be re-elected. I totally understand why he is doing it.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:13 PM on 05/07/2008

I'm not surprised that a superdelegate would endorse HRC based on a commitment to follow his district. I can live with that. The hypocrisy is the many supers who endorsed HRC before a single vote was cast in the primary contest. Many of whom are still standing with a non-viable candidate who has worked very hard to knee-cap the likely nominee (i.e., Bayh). Sad.

I am not sure if this is Hillary's way of complimenting Obama or not but she is speaking in West Virginia and her health care program now contains Obama's statement "you should have the same type of coverage we do in the Senate"; her speech now contains hers and Bill's college loans that they had to pay off and how each student will be asked to invest in the country after the country invests in them; her energy plan now includes conservation and no mention of a gas tax holiday. What the heck is this woman doing.........remember her accusing Obama of plagerism because he used a statement of one of his best friends? I swear, if she lowered her voice and I closed my eyes I would think it was Obama giving the speech.

This is quite puzzling to say the least. West Virginia's governor stated this morning that Hillary's lead may not be quite as big since the dynamics of last night's primaries changed everything. I hope that she leaves herself a way to bow out gracefully.

In her Indiana speech last night, she took several things from Obama--I don't think it's anything more than Hillary just wanting to say and do whatever the voters seem to want, and if it means stealing from Obama, that doesn't seem to bother her.
