More rough news for Sen. Hillary Clinton. The Hill reports that Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), one of Clinton's "most prominent Senate supporters, said Wednesday that she has asked the former first lady to detail her plans for the rest of the Democratic primary."

"I, as you know, have great fondness and great respect for Sen. Clinton and I'm very loyal to her," Feinstein said. "Having said that, I'd like to talk with her and [get] her view on the rest of the race and what the strategy is."

Clinton, who eked out a win in Indiana Tuesday night but lost big to front-runner Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) in North Carolina, has not responded to Feinstein's phone call, the California senator said.

"I think the race is reaching the point now where there are negative dividends from it, in terms of strife within the party," Feinstein said. "I think we need to prevent that as much as we can."

Tuesday night's results are widely viewed as a blow to Clinton's hopes after she failed to deliver a "game-changing" performance. Instead, Obama extended his leads among delegates and popular votes.

Feinstein stressed that Clinton is not an "also-run candidate," but added that there is a question "as to whether she can get the delegates that she needs. I'd like to see what the strategy is and then we can talk further."

Today it was reported that The Clintons have resorted to racial divisiveness. Earlier Hillary stated, "...our campaign caters to the hard working Americans, White Americans!" That statement has sparked much concern from both blacks and whites (even Hillary supporters) across the country. The desperation of The Clintons is not only exposing their deep rooted ills, but becomes more destructive to not only the Democratic Party but the Unity of America. This final tactic is just proof that NOW is the time to end this campaign. Contact the DNC and every SuperDelegate that you can....let them know that HILLARY SHOULD STEP DOWN....NOW !!!!......to save the Democratic Party....and the Re-Birth of America !!! Call the DNC at 202-863-8000. Also, contact all of the news networks....ask why they aren't talking about her racial statements.

Hillary's plan seems to be to drain Democratic patience and resources all the way to the convention to enable a McCain victory in the GE.
Why would the party help her?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:58 AM on 05/08/2008

Hey Fienstien, show us your "D" as in Democrat. F-off!!!!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:58 AM on 05/08/2008

Sen Feinstein is asking the question every Super Delegate needs to ponder.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:05 AM on 05/08/2008

How about working together to put this country back on track? I only know one Hillary supporter who has said to me that she would rather vote for McCain than Obama. I hope the percentage of voters who think this way is small.

Most people I have spoken to, whether for Clinton or Obama in the primaries, have told me that they will vote for whomever gets the nomination. That is what the whole primary process is designed to do, come up with a nominee for the respective parties. We started with what, eight potential nominees? Neither of my first two choices ended up as one of the final two, but I think that all eight will gladly support whoever gets the nomination.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:58 AM on 05/08/2008

Well, i hate to say it

But if Obama gets this stolen from him, i wont vote for her

I wont vote for McCain, but i surely will write him in or vote Independent

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:16 AM on 05/08/2008

If disgruntled HRC supporters prefer McCain that is all the more reason why Clinton should not be the nominee. While I supported Bill during his presidency, I always thought he was too Republican. Not foaming-at-the-mouth Newt Gingrich Republican, mind you. But the right wing nut cases disliked him not because he was liberal but because he was a more effective conservative. Hillary's sewer strategy only confirms that. If you can't bring yourself to vote for Obama then vote for Ron Paul. Or Kucinich. Or Nader. Someone with some integrity. McCain has sold his soul...if he ever had one to start with. And there's something snake-eyed about his wife that creeps me out.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:13 AM on 05/08/2008

I'm totally with you there on the Cindy McCain thing. Also I have just urged my congressman who supports HIllary to reconsider based solely on the way she has run the campaign. Her "tenacity" is being heralded but in this case it is not healthy for the party and as president is would fear someone who barrells ahead without regard for the consequences. This is what Bush has done.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:50 PM on 05/08/2008

NO WE WONT

The Obama supporters want us, the Hillary supporters, to support OBAMA to win the presidency.

I say................NO WE WONT.

After all the LIES from BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA and INSULTS from his SUPPORTERS, they want us to embrace and support them win the presidency. What do they take us for, really stupid. I don't know about you, but that BELITTLES ME and insults my intelligence.

Whatever you do, DON'T VOTE FOR THAT LIAR OBAMA. I'd rather vote for McCain than see that LIAR OBAMA win. The lying Obama is no better than a lying Republican.

gorillaman is a good name for you.
Why don't you just go back to rushlimbaugh.com and troll there.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:56 AM on 05/08/2008

I was just going to reply in a very similar vein to Gorillaman's post but I think you summed it up nicely Cynicalmass. As a Dem I am concerned about policy changes that are good for our country. Luckily both of our candidates have similar positions which I can hope they will get implemented when we take back the white house and control the houses!

.The following is a quote from Donna Brazil on CNN, primary night. I am part of the "old coalition" and since the DNC no longer needs my vote, I plan to change my affilation to Independent. The Rezko trail final arguments begin Monday.

.. I have worked on a lot of Democratic campaigns, and I respect Paul. But, Paul, you're looking at the old coalition. A new Democratic coalition is younger. It is more urban, as well as suburban, and we don't have to just rely on white blue-collar voters and Hispanics. We need to look at the Democratic Party, expand the party, expand the base and not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:49 AM on 05/08/2008

Sad for you

because Donna just defined the democratic party

Its not just about one constituency, its about the whole. All this hoopla over white working class voters, what about AA's who are the dems who will always be dems?

So go right on ahead and vote Independent if Obama gets the nomination, because by your standards, you're not a democrat anyway

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:20 AM on 05/08/2008

The campaign has brought in a lot of new people. That in no way is discounting the importance of the Democratic base. You are every bit as important and valued as you ever were! We just have to scoot over a bit on the pew to make room for the new members: First time voters, college students, Latinos, and Republicans who are fed up as the rest of us about the past 8 years!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:11 AM on 05/08/2008

Diane Feinstein used to be a Democrat that represented California. As far as I am concerned she should be voted out and join the Republican Party along with Hillary Clinton. Neither one of them vote like true Democrats.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:30 AM on 05/08/2008

Hillary now or 2012. Obama loses this general to never return.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:07 AM on 05/08/2008

2008 is s-o-o-o passé!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:31 AM on 05/08/2008

Yeah, right. Please start taking your meds- that grip of reality is gone.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:45 AM on 05/08/2008

I have no doubt she wants Obama to lose in 2008. It's her only chance to ever become president. If Obama wins, her next chance will be 2016, not 2012. At 70, it's much tougher to get the nomination.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:39 AM on 05/08/2008

It's already been pointed out that you're wrong and why. Get on board or get lost.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:25 AM on 05/08/2008

Wright and Ayres ? That's all you've got ?

Clinton just played that hand and was rewarded by having her ass handed back to her.

Do you know the definition of insanity ?

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Yeah, Wright and Ayres, that'll work.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:22 AM on 05/08/2008

Why would Democrats give Senator Clinton a second look? She entered this race as the prohibitive favorite, with a massive war chest, an enormous advantage in name recognition, and what was supposed to be an experienced, overpowering organization. None of those advantages is likely to be as great in 2012.
If she is to have any hope of being the candidate the party turns to following a failed bid by Senator Obama, she will have to have worked honestly and tirelessly on his behalf in the general election - to do less would leave a sour taste in the mouths of many voters, and more importantly, many of those in power in the party. I think it far more likely that this is her one shot - and that is why it is so difficult for her to give it up.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:53 AM on 05/08/2008

and you cant win without Obama supporters

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:24 AM on 05/08/2008

if Obama gets the nomination and you won't support him you're as good as voting for McCain. Why on earth would you want him in office. You may not like Obama, but he can't be anything close to as bad as McCain.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:39 AM on 05/08/2008

Feinstein isn't too sharp. Maybe Feinstein hasn't been paying any attention at all, BUT Hillary is out of arguments, out of money, out of steam. Obama is less then 184 delegates away from securing the nomination. What does Feinstein think Hillary is gonna tell her?? Is she gonna cast some kinda spell??!! This is ridiculous.

Hey Dianne: HILLARY HAS ABOUT AS MUCH CHANCE OF WINNING THE NOMINATION AS I DO. (and I didn't have to put $11.4 million of my own money in either).

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 01:38 AM on 05/08/2008

I think Feinstein knows all that. I think she is diplomatically trying to get Clinton to face facts.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:33 AM on 05/08/2008

I always thought Feinstein never seized the opportunity given to her. Actually, she got her break when George Moscone was tragically killed and she became mayor of SF. She let us down I think. She is an example of the democrat status quo that needs to be re-educated or replaced.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 01:55 AM on 05/08/2008

I am content to see Clinton say in. (I'm Obama supporter).

She can most prove herself for VP or President (if Obama gets a "flat tire" before the convention) by focusing her attention on beating the hell out of McCain like she has Obama.

Obama withstood the Clinton machine for a solid 3 months. I think he is tested enough. Maybe some Clinton supporters would like to see more proof. But it is hard to make a case he can't take a beating and keep ticking.

Just because she is behind doesn't mean she has to quit. In virtually all sports we encourage athletes to complete the race. As long as she has the financial resources and support. Go Hillary!!

Critical is that she change her tone toward Obama, gas tax, etc.

What if Clinton and Obama work together to get some important legislation pushed through Congress..

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 01:20 AM on 05/08/2008

Obama will make a huge mistake if he picks her. Her negatives are too high and his message of change will sound hollow if a Clinton is on the ticket.

Obama/Webb is the answer. Webb is sharp and he can help Obama get Virginia, Colorado and Missouri. Not to mention Webb's appeal with the vets, cutting into mccain's crowd.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:27 AM on 05/08/2008

Who can know what things will look like in a month after we get through the election cycle?

How about a month of McCain and Obama starting to duke it out. And maybe some Hillary punches at McCain, too?

You never know. Though I agree she may not be interested in aligning to an Obama directed administration.

The next month is a trial period for her to make her case. Let him put down some policies and see if she can further them, rather than the other way around like it has been for the past 3 months.

Clinton has been driving policy, one after another. So if she keeps doing that it really not going to help Obama to have her on the ticket.

Though if they can work together, you never know.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:51 AM on 05/08/2008

Weathermaker...I fear Hillary as vp she may have Obama killed so she is the president.....di you hear of the phrase.........Hell knows wrath as a scorned woman....and Hillary is scorned...by clinton and obama

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:47 AM on 05/08/2008

I don't want McClinton anywhere near the White House. I can just picture McClinton being a thorn in President Obama's side every week, as she and Bill go charging off recklessly.

No, let McClinton stay in the Senate and relearn what it means to be a Democrat. She's been playing this election season as a Republican, and she needs to get back to basics.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:18 AM on 05/08/2008

Well that has always been the ppoint - critical that she change her tone.

Its not just since yesterday that she has had no chance but to pray for Obama to get a "flat tire" - this has been for quite some time. The problem is that she has been personally trying to flatten it.

If that is her only chance, she can suspend her campaign and she would still be the next choice. It has been so for months.

Hopefully she behaves now. I think we'd all like everyone to vote.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:03 AM on 05/08/2008

True she was the one trying to give him the flat, put out the nail spikes, etc.

If she had focused on policy and issues rather than gaffes, wright, etc, back in Feb, maybe she would be further ahead.
