The Daily Show's Marathon Take On A Marathon Primary Night

Eight minutes and counting! The Daily Show outdid themselves last night on primary night coverage, showcasing your favorite pundits in various stages of prognostication. We're pleased to note that they picked up a lot of the moments we noted — Tim Russert makin' the call, Bill Clinton's sad face, the Brazile/Begala throwdown, Jeff Toobin speaking out against shady-seeming electoral antics, (and we made the White House/White Castle joke here! Yay!) Special shout-out for the hilarious Brit Hume catch (loving the dripping sarcasm) and the nice twist on John King's magic-wallery (amazing what a soundtrack will do). With special moments provided by Jack Cafferty, Rachel Maddow, Gloria Borger, Chris Matthews, Jamal Simmons, Carl Bernstein, David Gergen, Lanny Davis, Anderson Cooper, Campbell Brown and, of course, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Then Jon welcomed John McCain to the program, and suggested that he take Hillary Clinton as his running mate. Presented as a joke, but really - shades of Kerry in 2004? So diabolical it just might work. Actually, it probably would work. Agree? Disagree? Tell me what an idiot I am in comments!

While it is Stewarts show and he deserves all the credit that can be bestowed, he is the BEST mind in politics. THE BEST. No one is even close.

We should give plenty of credit to his writers. They are absolutely terrific.

Baloney. Sounds like you never watch Jon at all. If all you saw was the Oscars, then you probably don't realize that ABC is NOT Comedy Central. What's allowed in one place (Comedy Central) is definitely not going to be allowed on ABC - the suits rule.
