E-Mail Shows Racial Jokes by Secret Service Supervisors

Secret Service supervisors shared crude sexual jokes and engaged in racially derogatory banter about blacks, and passed around an anecdote about a possible assassination of the Rev. Jesse Jackson, according to internal e-mail disclosed in a federal court filing on Friday by lawyers for black Secret Service agents.

The filing includes 10 e-mail messages that were among documents the agency recently turned over to lawyers for the black agents as part of an increasingly bitter discrimination lawsuit. The messages were written mainly from 2003 through 2005, and were sent to and from e-mail accounts of at least 20 Secret Service supervisors.

The Secret Service Agents who disparaged their fellow human beings are American's and they are trusted American's by their position. Why would any normal citizen have confidence in society when this type of nonsense continues at very high levels and in sensitive areas of government?

I feel compelled to post a comment in defense of the United Sates Secret Service.
My company has worked with the Secret Service for over three years. We are members of one of the Crime Task Forces headed by the Secret Service.
I have never heard, or was ever aware of even a hint of any racial slurs or racial animosity in all the time, past or present, that we worked with them
Without hesitation, I can state that we have never worked with a finer group of men and women.
I personally know many of the Special Agents and the SAICs (Special Agents In Charge) in several of the field offices, in paricular, the Milwaukee and Chicago offices.
I know the individuals connected with the security detail of Senator Obama's Hyde Park residence in Chicago. I also know the great care, preparation and attention to detail that they follow to assure his safety and that of the Obama family.
Senator Obama and all others that are under the protection of the United States Secret Service are in capable hands.

I spoke to a few of Obama's Secret Service agents when they were in my town for a rally in early April. I was curious about how they viewed both Obama and their job and to my surprise they were really nice and talked with me for a while before the rally.

I asked them if all the stories were true about them playing basketball with Obama and hanging out with him at his home for SuerBowl Sunday and they said it was all true. They said they play basketball with him as much as they can, they spend alot of time with him even when they are not campaigning like on Super Bowl Sunday and have dinners with him and sit around and bullshit. I got the feeling that certain agents have become pretty good friends with Obama.

I also asked them if they liked working for certain candidates more than others. Their response..."We're not suppose to mam." I followed up asking if any of the stories were true about the Clintons being verbally assaulting to them. They looked at eachother and one said..."We are professionals mam. If you want to keep your job you don't talk about your job mam, it's not professional." Another laughed and said..."You would never work again, anywhere, if you started talking."

Their original codename for Obama (which has changed) was "maverick". Funny now that we know McCain will be his opponent.
