Via ThinkProgress: "[A]s Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) reveals in his new book, Bush again used that infamous phrase as recently as 2007. Last night on MSNBC, Reid said that on the anniversary of 9/11 last year, he was 'complaining' to Bush about the situation in Iraq. Bush replied, 'Bring 'em on. We're killing them. We're killing them.'" Read more here.

Reid discussed the revelation with MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. Watch it:

shoot first, don't ask (questions, either) later

LIFE ON THE RUN: FRANK MAZZETTI
Training in the mountains
Always with a gun
Keeping things in motion
Life on the run

I remember '81
When it all begun
They tore the world in two large parts
Life on the run

And I'm tearing up the highway like an eagle
My claws slicing through a worn out flag
I've got to get away from all these natives
Now that Ahab has them playin' tag

Life was hard all over
Life had lost it's fun
Life lost in depression
Life on the run

They cursed and jeered the enemy
As if the battle won
They stared at Ahab's gold doubloon
Their lives on the run

And Ahab was known as quite an actor
He had a winning way with his eyes
With the shipping merchants filling up his pockets
His smile seemed to win over the guys

They cheered and marched in lockstep
In the early mornin' sun
Salutin' all those generals
Life on the run

To eliminate dissention
Even priest and nun
They put 'em in a red arena
Life on the run

Of course most were loyal subjects
Most believed Ahab's "hows" and "whys"
They were subject to the promised good conditions
They were subject to believe his schoolboy lies

They never knew what happened
Star Wars set to stun
Destruction was so swift, Lord
Life on the run

That's OK! That is what Bush said too when he went to fight in Vietnam! Oh yes, I forgot he did not fight in Vietnam. He used his name recognition to hide in Texas in the Air National Guard. Well, his macho, careless rhetoric will get other young Americans killed.

The Emperor Has No Clothes.

The Idiot In Chief only spouts slogans.

"Dead or Alive"

"Mission Accomplished"

"Bring 'em On"

This looser destroys everything he touches. Every business he ever ran went down. Now, he ran down the country. And he has the gall of using bravado, when he should be hiding his face in shame instead!

It has always been beyond me how some guys with limited life experiences, specially in matters of life and death, kill or be killed, can express themselves that way.
Unless you lived it, know what's involved, you should stay the hell away from those type of statements.
War is an experience that man could definetely do without; it upsets me when I hear statements such as this from guys who have no idea in the world what war does to human beings, friend or foe.
How this man got to be President and how to keep it from happening again in the future should be a topic of long and deep study in our finest Universities.
This man thinks like an adolescent, not a mature man. He was never Presidential material.
His father should have kept him from running for President, I'm sure he knew what kind of son he had.
Maybe Jeb would have been better; at least I'd like to think so.

It's called nature and humanity. Go get a book on grammar and spelling. And it's not spelled dickshunairy. Though it would be ever so much fun if it was.

This lame Senator should go away. He should have announced this to the world, and started working on impeaching Bush. Instead, he waits to put it in a book. That's selfish beyond belief.
Hillary would make a great Senate Majority leader, she's organized, tough, smart, and unlike Reid, has a pair.

Hillary's made too many enemies now to be an effective Majority Leader. Chris Dodd would do far better.

I completely disregard anything Bush the maniac says but I keep wondering what they will do with this guy when he leaves office. Where is the sanitarium that they have waiting for him with bed straps? Do they allow continuing secret service protection in sanitariums? After a president leaves, people want to talk to the secret service people to get the low down and dirt. What are they going to do with these secret service people, bury them with the king?

Harry, Harry, Harry. You heard him say this and yet you've done nothing. You're an accessory.

Agreed.

I'm looking forward to Reid's last day as Majority Leader, and Pelosi's as Speaker of the House.

in the wilderness before we hear another peep out of you.

Clearly amnesia is the Repugnicant party's greatest ally.

"I'm sorry, Senator, I cannot clearly recall..."

"....but Bill Clinton did it!"

If the Iraq debacle were occurring under a Democratic administration, there would have been mass resignations from the party as well as impeachment proceedings a few years ago. If McCain steals, um I mean, "wins" the election, rest assured, more macho bullshit will be coming out of the White House and more crap will be swept under the rug.

Killing people in the hope of killing an idea is not only stupid, it shows just how vast Bush's ignorance is. He probably watches Reagan cowboy movies to learn how to deal with people who disagree with you. Shoot first. Then shoot the person who criticizes you for shooting first.

McCain is 100% worst than Bush, it's McCain who is walking around singing "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran in public, with little regard for who hears him". I don't know if McCain realizes that we are not "yet" at war with Iran, and even if so, that it is inappropriate for any possible future president to be behaving like a moronic warmogerer, especially in public.
I guarantee McCain is going to turn out to be 100% worst than Bush.

And it all happens with the complicity of Congress.... at least the senators in Rome had the honor and the balls to bring the reign of Julius Ceasar to a screeching halt. Our Congressional reps have no sense of honor nor do they have the will to bring these criminals to heel. America isn't a great democracy, it isn't even a pretty good one. We are owned by corporations and old money. Decadent, greedy, self-righteous and arrogant "leaders" ignoring the fate of the those Pebians who allegedly elected them.... very sad and in need of a change that probably will not come. Is everyone ready for $8 per gallon gas? Won't be long. Wanna see inflation decimate your access to food? Just keep watching and letting your leaders continue on this path to their enrichment at the cost of your basic standard of living. I am sure all those vets who fought for the "American Way" will appreciate their sacrifice in a new light when their mortgages fail and they are bankrupt....

Great interview by Olberman. He really had some good questions for Reid. Bush's "bring 'em on" comment just shows he never had a clue about foreign policy. You just cannot kill everyone who does not agree with you. Bush still acts like a school boy.

Ried should pull a Lieberman and switch parties- he is such a tool!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:27 PM on 05/10/2008

No need to switch. Reid and Pelosi are doing just what they want, now. Reid and Pelosi may end up being history's biggest enablers of the war crimes committed by Bush/Cheney.

They just don't get it. You can no more destroy them than they could destroy us.

al Qaeda knows it cannot destroy the USA. However, their goal is to bankrupt the USA. It looks like they are right on target. Don't take my word for it, look at the gas pump and heating oil prices.
Then go to the food store and see how much less you get for the more you spend.

They did the EXACT SAME THING to the former Soviet Union. Isn't there a well-known proverb: "Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it"?
