Around noon today, the powers-that-be at NEWSWEEK posted "A Convention Quandary" on our website. In the story, investigative ace Michael Isikoff reported that the man chosen by John McCain's presidential campaign to run this summer's GOP convention--Arizonan Doug Goodyear--was causing some headaches within the ranks. The problem? Goodyear is CEO of DCI Group, a consulting firm that earned $3 million last year lobbying for ExxonMobil, General Motors and other clients--not the most convenient association for a candidate who's already struggling to reconcile his reputation as an anti-special interests crusader with the sizable number of lobbyists on his senior staff. Further complicating matters: Isikoff's revelation that DCI was paid $348,000 in 2002 to represent Burma's military junta, leading "a PR campaign to burnish the junta's image, drafting releases praising Burma's efforts to curb the drug trade and denouncing 'falsehoods' by the Bush administration that the regime engaged in rape and other abuses." Ouch.

Apparently, Goodyear agreed.

Every day we learn more about the real McSame and every day more Republicans are supporting Ron Paul.

Now's the time to tell McCain that you can't choose your family, but you can choose your campaign staff.

And when you chose someone who works for - profits from - a despotic, delusional murderous, military regime that has excelled at sending its people into a desperate cycle of poverty, deprivation and fear, locking up the political opponents it doesn't kill, you REALLY know who your candidate is.

McCain's men make Reverend Wright look like santa claus. At least Wright does not have real human blood on his hands. Absolutely shocking and shameful. Boycott McCain.

Good friend of other spokes.

At the rate things going McCain will soon have to use his family to staff his campaign.

So does this mean that the government of Myanmar endorses John McCain? More importantly, does this mean that John McCain endorses the government of Myanmar? It seems McCain's Myanmar connection is much more solid and concrete than any connection of Obama to Hamas.

How appropriate that PTSD John should have a PR firm that specializes in sugar-coating fascist military dictatorships for congress on his staff. Mmmm-Mmmm. Tasty.

After being paid by the military junta, it seems reasonable to send Doug Goodyear to Burma,

so he can convince them to allow the critical relief of foods and medicines for the people, which

they have so far not allowed.

Doug Goodyear is a Compassionate Conservative Republican, just like McCain, Bush and

Cheney, right?

SEND MCCAIN'S PAL, DOUG GOODYEAR TO BURMA! ASAP!!!

With no opponent yet to face, McCain has shown his ugly side already. Other than being a hothead, he is unequipped to handle foreign diplomat's with fact based discussion. He continuously misspeaks, Leiberman coming to his defense after 'gaffes' that are disturbing. He speaks in a monotone, unlike any other, cautiously wondering if he's just ' out of touch' with what voter's need to hear or his script is just plain uninspiring. I think he hate's to win a nomination without confrontation and 'hard work' to win the Presidency.

He is basically lazy, arrogant and feels as Clinton does 'entitled'. His 5 yrs as a POW is sad, no more sad than the ten's of thousands of courageous men and woman in any war. He survived, many didn't. My father was on the front lines in WW11, lost his hearing, suffered PTSD, many coming home now will suffer all of their lives. What has McCain actually done, other than those 5 yrs. to make the World a safer place?

I don't know of anything. He doesn't talk about that, instead refers only to his courageous war hero status. When one pumps up their braveness, courage and sacrifice as the only message, it is against integrity.. Pride is a sin, as stated many times in the Bible. If someone else does mention his attributes, fine, but not him, this is so much Clintonesk, Bush and many others. Completely a turnoff.

It truly looks like May 6th was for all practical purposes, the end of the 2008 Presidential election. Now all that has to be done is vote.

Forgive me....before hurling cheap shot invective look in the mirror. It is our mandate to maintain the high road. Ageism is no different from rascism, sexism or any of the other malignant isms.

The man has clear targets tattooed all over him, for God's sake. Identify them and THEN point your arrows. No 3 card Monte games or cheap shots wherein you unwittingly emulate The enemy are NECESSARY. Be a part of the Solution for Real. Don't become HILLARY. We are EARNING ALL THIS REAL DEAL.

Let us be objective: we all hope, when we reach his age--if we have that privilege--- we will at least have his energy. Give the martinet his due. And remember, his mother is 137. Close to it.....and is also compos mentis.

McCain's age and medical status are genuine issues which should be addressed in the campaign.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:51 AM on 05/11/2008

True, but shouldn't we actually address them, rather than just taking stupid potshots?

So what. I think it was in 2004 when Bush publicly denounced Myanmar and said no US company should do business with them. And then it turned out that much of the white house gift shop items, like hats, t-shirts and more, were all marked as being made in Myanmar.

No double standards. Neo Cons are the party of Corporations. And corporations own the media. There is only one standard, and that is what makes them money and keeps them in power.

Meet John McCain:Sold his soul to the devil for power.

John McCain "repeatedly cheated on his first wife Carol, of a number of years, with a variety of women, before eventually dumping her for a much-younger heiress whose family fortune was able to help finance his political career"

Sold his sole to the devil for power.
