Plenty About Pot: New TV Show, Old Bong

Nickelodeon's Yo Gabba Gabba! - a show aimed at preschoolers - has found an entirely unintended audience. According to ABC News,

Many older fans of the show said they like it just for the music and quirky characters, others said the show was even better when combined with another popular pastime of some 20-somethings: Smoking marijuana.

"It's a good stoner television show, because it's not difficult to understand since it's made for children and there are lots of bright colors and good music," said Tracie Egan, an editor for popular women's gossip blog Jezebel.com, adding that she has watched the show after getting high.

"It caters to a child's mind, and when you're stoned, you're sort of, well, slower," said Egan, 29, who writes a column for Jezebel, "Pot Psychology," that depends on her getting high prior to writing.

Both show co-creators said they're happy the show has attracted older audience members -- Schultz thinks it's "awesome" -- but they didn't comment specifically on those who get high to watch.

In other pot-related news, three Texas teens and one adult have been charged with corpse-abuse after they allegedly removed a skull from a grave to use as a bong.

According to Reuters:

One of the men allegedly told police they dug up a grave in an abandoned cemetery in the woods, removed a head from a body and smoked marijuana using the skull as a bong.

Police found the cemetery and a grave that had been disturbed but are still investigating the rest of the story, officials said.

How did this skull-bong work? According to Officer Jim Adkins, "They cut the jaw off of it and wrapped it in electrical tape and used it to make a bong." Slate Magazine also has a step-by-step explanation of how to make a Skull Bong.

USA Today reports that the skull allegedly belongs to Willie Simms, an 11-year-old boy who died in 1921. Fox's local affiliate in Houston has a photo gallery.

My son loves yo gaba gaba because he loves music, and most of the show is singing and dancing. I watch it with him, so I know that it is a really weird show. I don't remember seeing anything like clip above with the rainbow and shapes, and I thought I saw every show. The weird part about the show is the guy with the weird hat. At the beginning of each show he comes out in his spandex with a boom-box on his shoulder. He opens up the boom-box, takes out these dolls and puts them on the "set" in front of him. Then they come to life and sing, dance, play. When the show is ending, he puts them back inside of their boom-box and walks off the set. The thing I really like about the show is in encourages my son to try other foods. All I have to do is sing the song "try it, you'll like it" and he will try a new food.

I think marijuana should be legalized and anyone over 18 years old be allowed to use it however they want. The government has always scared us into doing things that are not in our best interests and we are easily manipulated into not thinking for ourselves then we are told that it is for our own good while our freedoms are slowly being taken away one by one.

I'm old enough to remember the Croft superstars, I used to love to watch them when I was a kid. I saw a couple clips on you tube recently and have no doubt the show was made by stoners. I had no clue when I was seven. Check out H R puffin stuff, Sigmund and the seamonsters etc. from those early 70's shows. I think the theme song went "HR puffin stuff, can't do a little and he can't do enough" I used to sing it with my little sisters when we were kids.

Yo Gabba Gabba? More like Gabba Gabba Hey. This is pretty cool stuff. Mom and Dad call this stuff New Age. In the early 70's we'd watch pre-Elmo Sesame Street for the same reasons. Now we watch O'Reilly for the same unreality. As for the Skull, that's just not right. Everybody knows that the best bongs are made of glass.

Dude, stay clear of aluminum foil for pipes. You ingest lots of bad toxins by burning the foil. Use an apple or use steel mesh from a tea sieve or grease splatter guard. There's a wives' tale about aluminum pipes giving us Alzheimer's. Don't think its true but better safe than sorry.
Love the show and you ain't tripped until you seen Witchypoo and PufnStuf on two tabs of blotter. Went to church for a month after that.

I thought maybe the deceased was a typhoid or cholera victim and the stoners contracted the disease. In my home town there is a small cemetery of cholera victims, and awhile back someone wanted to move the graves and do development of some sort - & they just couldn't understand what the problem was.
