Newsweek Veteran: Time 100 "Not Fair"

Last week's event at the Time Warner Center drew the hottest movie star of the moment, "Iron Man" Robert Downey Jr., presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain, plus Mariah Carey (who sang), Chris Rock, Bill O'Reilly and such business titans as Stephen Schwarzman, Lloyd Blankfein and Rupert Murdoch. "It's not fair," complained one magazine veteran. "Time butters up all these bigwigs and then gets access." But as former publisher Ron Galotti once explained to Page Six, "Fair? Fair is for kids."

If one really looks around, nothing is fair. Gas prices are unreasonably high and house prices are unreasonably low. Food is unreasonably high and our faith in this administration is unreasonably low. If the current mess this country isn't in doesn't make this do-nothing Congress go for impeachment, let's hope that the unfairness in access to celebrities can prompt Congress to do what the little people can't.

Can you believe that there is an adult in the world that still believes this sort of stuff has anything to do with the word "Fair" - I really don't want someone delivering news to me who thinks that the world is "Fair".
