Indiana Rep. Joe Donnelly endorsed Obama this morning, moving Barack's gap to the nomination 149 delegates. The press release is below.

UPDATE: New Orlean Mayor Ray Nagin, another superdelegate, has also endorsed Obama (statement below). Also, the Washington Post reports that one of Clinton's pledged delegates from Maryland has announced that he will support Obama at the convention.

UPDATE: Former DNC Chair (and Colorado governor) Roy Romer makes three.

UPDATE: Anita Bonds, the chairwoman of D.C.'s Democratic party came out, rather unexpectedly, for Obama late last night.

CHICAGO, IL -- Today, Indiana Congressman Joe Donnelly endorsed Barack Obama for President, citing his commitment to working families and building a real coalition for change:

"Today, I am pleased to announce my support for Barack Obama. At a time when too many Americans have lost faith in their government, Senator Obama can move us beyond the politics of stalemate and gridlock that has kept us from meeting the monumental challenges of our time: our dependence on foreign oil, a health care gap that leaves tens of millions uninsured, the steady deterioration of our manufacturing base, and an economy that is not working for working people.

The Democratic Party's strength comes from its core commitment to the American Dream and from a coalition that is ideologically, economically, geographically and ethnically diverse. Barack Obama will stand with working families while building that coalition so that we can change this country, and that's why he's the best choice for America."

Barack Obama said, "I am honored to have the support of Congressman Joe Donnelly. Joe has brought an independent, principled, and pragmatic voice to Washington that is more focused on getting results for Hoosier families than scoring political points. As President, I look forward to working with Congressman Donnelly to build bipartisan majorities to create jobs, make health care more affordable and accessible, and to give our veterans the care and support that they have earned."
Donnelly is the 282nd superdelegate to endorse Barack Obama, who is 149 delegates away from securing the Democratic nomination.

It is not Onama or Hillary it is the Demo Party...The repubs have tried 3 times to tie Obama with candidates and the Democratic party and won.
Those Congressmen won in historically Republican Districts....I think this puts the lie to Obama does not have coattails or that it helps to be a Republican.

Ok Hillary got her big win..CONGRATS!! Now, I wonder how the superdelegates will view the "big win".

In Hillary's world, the SD's should start coming her way, since Obama can't "seal the deal". The coming days will tell.

(HE CAN'T GET THE "WHITE-WORKING CLASS", AND SHE CAN'T GET THE BLACK VOTE)

If Obama continues to pick up SD's even after her "big win", she should hear them LOUD AND CLEAR!!

GET OUT!!

You know the thing that gets me particularly being a NYC native and all... no one is talking about the Clinton's and their racist isolation of Black voters...HRC and Slick Willy have continued to isolate their beloved African Americans/Black voters. It was the African Americans/Black people, particularly the clergy and religous community like Sharpton, Jessie Jackson and yes, even Reverend Wright (there is a picture with him and Bill at the White House back in 1998 cirriculating around) who came to their defense, when the GOP was nailing Bill and Hillary to the cross over the Lewinsky scandal, whilst Hillary turned to the GOP Nazi loving occult called "The Family". It was the community of Harlem, NYC and reps like Charlie Rangel and others who helped the Clinton's establish HRC bid for the NYC Senate and welcomed Bill Clinton to open his office in Harlem, NYC.

This is the the thanks the Clinton's have returned to those who ....supported them, and this is why most of their support in these communities across the country have faded in support of Obama. That's right HRC you and Slick Willy keep doing what your are doing....sooner or later they will feel the black lash back in NY when this is said and done!

Yet they turned their backs on them, as soon as Bill started playing the race card, and they figured that Black voters where truly seeing them for what they really are

West Virgina was an expected loss for Obama,he knew it and his supporters knew it ,why ?Simply because West Virgina proved Hillary right on the smear comment that was directed towards the people of west virgina ,kentucky and oregon by the media, and according to Clintons own words and a AP article saying that The UN-educated ,overwhelmingly WHITE number of voters would not vote for him .Look at the odds he faced in west virgina, the majority of hispanics consider themselves WHITE, and West Virgina is almost 95 percent white, and around 5 percent Black. This is a shame and a black mark on AMERICA ,that we are once again being portrayed as a Racist Country full of UNEDUCATED people to the rest of the world ,even Clinton agreed with the AP article !! How can true Americans allow themselves to be labled as such again ? He has shown that dispite the odds ,with THREE Clintons and McCain and the media and smear campaigns against him ,he has not reacted with anger, disrespect or hatred towards any of these people. He has kept his dignity and respect dispite the odds..And now Clinton is demanding that the delegate count be raised to 2,229 ? WAIT ,what happened to RULES and true democracy and fairness and values ? We are teaching our future voters,if you don't like the rules ,even if you do agree to them at first,it's ok to change those rules because some one THINKS they are ELITE and above those rules?

I have a question. Whatever happened to the investigation into the "no votes for Obama from the Harlem district in NY"? Apparently no votes were cast or counted from the Harlem districts during the primary on Super Tuesday for Obama and Mayor Bloomburg and a special committee were going to investigate this. But, I have heard nothing on this. Anybody know what happened there??? You know that this is impossible - no votes for Obama from Harlem when there was a large organized group out campaigning for him to gather votes weeks before the primary? This is nonsence.

I just wonder why Republicans were so outraged at Rev. Wright's "God Damn America" rant and were not equally outraged about Bush referring to the Constitution as that "god damned piece of paper"?

Try to answer coherently, Repubs.

Slowly, but surely, we are getting there. Its hard to be patient with the visit that never leaves. The rewards with Obama as president, will make the wait worthwhile.

The Obama nomination is unstoppable. By remaining in the race Hillary made Obama a tougher, better candidate. Hopefully the Rev. Wright episode is behind Obama. Hillary should consider stepping aside. Once the electorate can draw a distinction between McCain and Obama, with all Obama's energy and McCain's lackluster, with Obama's self-deprercating wit and McCain's hemming and hawing, Obama will win in a landslide.

The truth is the media is making a killing from this democratic primary process , between the ratings spike and the Ad buys ,it is in their interest to manipulate the public into thinking that this race is not over, the fact is this race based on the proportianility of how democratic delegates are awarded have been over since February. However the media has created terms like electability, and momentum to describe the process and pull the wool over the senile public's eyes .the truth is after the huge win in WV she is predicted to have, the talking points tonight will be about weaknesses in Senator Obama's candidacy, rather than calling it what it really is , racist hill billies from apalachia whom are still fighting the civil war , and cannot change their lot in life because of their own ignorance.by the time the delegates are shared , she will be in no better position to win than yesterday, this is an excercise in futility, mark my words though the talking heads will be ranting about her comeback tonight.

You are so right !!! Kentucky is almost the same problem as West Virgina,Kentuckys and Oregons statistics are almost identical to W/V, .....Kentucky: White persons 90.2% ,Blacks about 8 % .Oregons: White persons, 90.5% ,Blacks :less than 2% ,so once again America has been labled a racist country .The super delegates can change this view of America,by balanceing the odds .Those voters in the appalachians WILL enjoy the rewards later just like everyone else ,dispite the fact that Clinton pushed propaganda saying Obama has a problem with white working class people !!The appalachian people are hard to direct towards any kind of changes ,period ,but they believe what anyone WHITE tells them.Clinton and her people KNEW they would have to push that thought to the people in the appalachias !!! She proved that SHE IS A RACIST!!! I don't care what she trys to say,she is a racist when she USED race to win these states!!

Actually, even with her BIG win in WV the media says she still can't win. they are not excited about it. Why should they be - she will not win the nomination.

It is ironic that West Virginia would be a place where racists might be still "fighting the civil war" because the entire state's existence was because this little part of Virginia wanted no part of the civil war...sad....

That's very true!

Regardless, I do believe that she's winning all of the "I'll never vote for a N****er" KKK votes! And, what's worse is she's tapping right into their racism. Reveling in it really, It's insane, it's all she's got left. She is a Democrat, right? Like all of these people aren't going to be voting for McCain anyway.

While the nation and the press obsesses over this primary, McCain gets a free ride, Bush gets a free ride, Cheney gets a free ride, Congress gets a free ride, the war is relegated to page 7, and people are forgetting what the real issues are.

I have a question for Wolfie (Not Wolf Blitzer, Howard Wolfson)

"Why can't Obama seal the deal?"

This is what he has said over and over again, but I have a better question for him.

Why couldn't Hillary seal the deal?

Why couldn't Hillary, with the name recognition, with the poll leads, with the endorsements, and with the money, seal the deal? And why couldn't Hillary seal the deal when she had Bill Clinton with her?

The Answer: Well, I'll leave it up to Wolfie to answer it, but everyone else can try to answer.

Just heard the other other biggest delusional psychotic, Terry McAuliffe, besides Hillary and Wolfson:

On NPR McAuliffe says "We're winning this thing! We will win the nomination! We will win more popular votes!"

Even he's gotta admit, his antipsychotic meds are not working.

Why couldn't she close the deal?

She had a Maginot-Line strategy, everything loaded onto Super Tuesday.
She was arrogant - take note of the smirk on her face when she looked at Obama during debates,as if to say,"What are you doing here?"
She used what Obama proved to be outmoded campaign strategies, set-piece battle plans when Obama used Cyber guerilla warfare that utilized the viral attack of millions of supporters anteing up. Even if Obama lost, just the new game he brought into the primaries caught everyone's attention and he's made change already. The primaries will never be the same again!

As usual the MSM seems to be alot harder on Obama than Hillary. Hillary should have been able to seal the deal with all the support she started off with. Obama was the underdog from the very beginning. So, instead of the MSM recognizing that, they rather take shots at Obama. This is really so pathetic!

Hey, moderators, why are the "REPLY" buttons not available on certain posts? It seems to be happening on many of the articles all over the site. Can you please either fix it or explain it? It's getting frustrating.
