NEW YORK — Katie Holmes is looking to bounce back from a box-office flop with her Broadway debut.

The "Dawson's Creek" star and wife of Tom Cruise, who most recently starred in this year's "Mad Money" alongside Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah, will hit the stage in a revival of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" this fall.

Fellow castmembers include John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson. Exact dates and theater will be announced, producer Eric Falkenstein said Monday.

The play, first seen on Broadway in 1947, was Miller's first Broadway hit. It concerns businessman Joe Keller (Lithgow) whose factory supplied defective cylinder parts to the military, resulting in the deaths of 21 pilots during World War II. Yet it was his business partner who went to jail for the mistake.

Wiest will play Keller's wife; Wilson, his idealistic son; and Holmes, the son's fiancee and daughter of Keller's disgraced partner.

Holmes made a brief appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" earlier this month when she welcomed Winfrey to the Telluride, Colo., home that she and Cruise share. She then left her husband to conduct a tour, which included a peek at daughter Suri's playrooms, the home's kitchen, Cruise's collection of bound film scripts, and stunning views of snow-topped mountains.

Holmes costarred with Christian Bale in the 2005 blockbuster "Batman Begins," but will not join Bale to reprise the role in this summer's "The Dark Knight."

Simon McBurney will direct "All My Sons," which was revived on Broadway in 1987 and was last seen in New York 10 years later in a Roundabout Theatre Company production off-Broadway.

WOW.

Just look at that picture.

She looks dead and soulless.

Is that what Scientology does to you?

Remember when New York was the theater capitol? Remember when starring on Broadway actually meant something? Remember Broadway before it surpassed Hollywood in pure unadulterated cheesiness, before Quentin Tarantino, Rosie O'Donnell, Brooke Shields and Katie Holmes were considered over actual trained actors? Remember when tickets were under $100 and the shows were actually good?

Yes, (sighing) I sure do remember, those were the days! You couldn't pay ME to go and see these horrible actors that they have today.

Avoid Broadway when Katie is on the stage and you will help your struggling budget.

UNLESS, Tom is willing to pay for members of the audience to be there. In that

case, sign me up! : - /

Is it just me or is she a bad bad actor? I thought she was dead as doornail in Batman Returns. Really lifeless and unconvincing. Sorry Katie. Glad you're rich and all, but man.

No Kate Blanchett, she.

Watching Batman Begins, I was stunned at the bad acting. No Cate Blanchett? She isn't even Ali MacGraw.

She's not even Quickdraw McGraw.

Obviously, the role was either a favor owed by someone to her contract husband OR the role was purchased for. This girl could not pass an audition. My guess is they are splitting up... it makes it easier on (what is left of) Tom's image if she just goes to NY and the relationship "fades". An announcement of a split would cause too much negative press for Tom Cruise....Their contract is over!

This gal does not have the acting gene; it's something that can't be taught - how to act that is. Did Scientology organization threaten someone to get her on Broadway? I feel sorry for Lithgow and Wiest - two great actors. Life just ain't fair!

I think Katie's fantasic!! Tom is a very lucky man.

Anybody else think that picture of her on the front page looks a bit "Stepford-y"? Victoria's younger sister? That helmet hair? Stretched face? Vacant smile? Geez. She used to be a cute, open-faced young woman with 'some' career potential, though hardly at this point in time Broadway material.

Ms. Holmes could do a lot worse than being in a Miller play; like, for instance, marrying a nutcase and fashioning herself after Victoria Beckham, for God's sake. She stifled her career just as she was transitioning into adult roles. What a waste. Perhaps this may free her...if Tom doesn't usurp her publicity with his eternally preternatural smiling mug. If he really loves her he would STAY THE FUCK AWAY from the theatre, or else the endeavour will be all about him. Again. Still.

Katie stinks as an actress. it will do nothing for her career, you can't live on people wanting to see you not because of your acting, but because you have become like an animal in a cage at the zoo that people maybe want to see out of curiousity, but not acting substance. I for one, woudn't see it, and waste my money. Katie, go back to TV, preferably those stinky Lifetime TV movies, that is more your bag. Or better yet, have a few more kids, and enjoy Tom's money, because you can't act to save your life!

Katie is fresh out of Scientology Boot Camp and raring to go.

Never been much of an actress but she has the money and power of Tom behind her now. Starting to look a bit stranger as we see here.

I prefer Toms other two wives much more.

All My Sons, great play. Katie's a fair actress, but the name power she'll bring to Arthur Miller's first masterpiece will do a lot of good for its comeback. It's a great play. Katie Holmes will help reel in the big numbers the play deserves.

A fair actress? She is TERRIBLE! See the movie Where the Boys Are with Michael Douglas...she looks so fake, so phoney, so overacted... or your falling asleep. See Batman returns....she is like, asleep, and totally NOT believable in her charachter as a lawyer... lifeless, and she was the reason I couldn't get through either movie. I started watching the Presidents Daughter and couldn't understand her and it was seeming like Dawson's Creek without Dawson, the same crap, couldn't watch that stinker either. She was ok in Dawson's Creek, but the cast was good, it was like watching High School, but mostly she cried, she whined, and got mad on cue. Very flat, no dimension, no acting ability neccessary, for her part. She is NOT worthy of movies or Broadway, and it doesn't matter who she is married to. The only thing she had going for her once upon a time I am guessing, was her youthful appeal and she lost that a long time ago! It's a shame, because good actors and actresses will have to suffer when she is in a movie or on Broadway. She should stick to being mommy to Suri and her stepkids, and have another baby and spend Tom's money, her so called career is OVER!

I meant "things". Tom Cruise can keep 'things' balanced on Sunday because Baby Suri sleeps at night.
However babies wake up, and this may be Nanny time. Make sure it's Tom's mother or someone that age. Just my advice.

She's a good little actress. Very natural. I hope this works for her. It should.
Shows are usually in the evening and Sunday Matinees Tom Cruise can keep thinks balanced. I think it is a good ground for the Cruises. Break a Leg Kate.

Well, Broadway will be the judge of whether or not she can really act. Anything to get away from Tom, I don't blame her for moving across country!
