It has now been more than three months since Karl Rove first appeared on television as a Fox News political analyst on Feb 5. In no fewer than 57 appearances, he has increasingly been welcomed into the Fox News fraternity, even joking that the "Hannity & Colmes" show should be renamed the "Colmes & Rove" show. After departing from a Bush administration in political tatters last August, he has reemerged to hold forth at length on the 2008 presidential race. And he may have plenty of seasoned political wisdom to offer Fox's audience. Rove, however, is playing a strategic role that he and the network refuse to reveal to viewers.

Fox News hosts routinely introduce Rove as a "former senior advisor to President Bush," "the architect," a "political wizard" and a "famed political consultant." But never has he been introduced as he should be -- as an informal advisor and maxed-out donor to John McCain's presidential campaign.

To political news junkies, a disclosure of Rove's relationship to the McCain campaign may seem unnecessary. But whether the public simply assumes that Rove supports McCain isn't the point. The "most influential pundit" in America, as Fox likes to trumpet, should have to play by the same rules as other high-profile political analysts. For example, Paul Begala and James Carville are regularly identified as supporters of Hillary Clinton when they appear on CNN. But Rove has been able to act as an independent observer while criticizing Clinton and Barack Obama, McCain's likely general election opponent.

There is nothing shocking about Rove's attacking Democrats, of course. And his operating with a duplicitous air of independence probably isn't going to make or break Fox's claim to "fair and balanced" coverage. But will the greater public catch on?

Ruppie Murdoch and Roger Ailes (Fox Noise) are both rich corporatists who what to keep control of the government so they can continue to cheat the average American. I think many of these "average Americans" are wising up finally (they are not buying the fear factor anymore) and November 2008 will be a day that will live in the history books as the date Americans woke up to the lies of the rich and threw these clowns out of office en masse.

If you've actually watched his commentary, he's done as much advising to the Obama and Clinton campaigns has he has to the McCain campaign. They're always asking him "What should Obama do to overcome his problems with blue-collar workers?" or asking "how Clinton can secure the nomination?"

Why is it assumed that he's an advisor to the McCain campaign? It's stated that he's an "informal advisor" - what does that mean?

If you have to reveal everyone's support of a particular candidate, then every CNN and MSNBC newsperson would have to open their commentary with "BTW, it should be noted that I support Barack Obama".

Yeah, right. Just what we Democrats want. Advice from that felon.

In fact commentators SHOULDN"T support any candidate. They can like candidates. They can talk up candidates.

But they shouldn't give money to them or give advice to campaigns.

If they do that they should be in some other line of work. It is called CONFLICT OF INTEREST. A long standing legal concept.

Whatever. I suppose we should all be listening to Rove. Clinton's quoting his numbers crunch as being in her favor. If he's good enough for Clinton, "the working person's candidate", he's good enough for me!

NOT!!!

As the entire network is BUSH COUNTRY, it is understood that they are part of the RNC.

But, I guess, for purposes of openness, it should be revealed what role he plays in the McCain campaign.

Why Won't Fox Reveal "Analyst" Karl Rove As A McCain Adviser? Because he works for Hillary Clinton.

Last night Clinton was using Karl Rove's maps of how she was going to win the GE. When Hillary used to bash the "vast Right wing conspiracy", she neglected to tell us that she and Bill were part of it.

Using Karl Rove as a strategist during an election in which 82% of America believes we are headed in the wrong direction is the most bone headed thing Hillary could have done. We are in the Twilight Zone!

Folks, let's face it. Karl Rove has given our nation a "Hot Karl" over the last eight years. He's literally crapped all over us, and yet, the Repubs keep loving him all the more. Why is that? What is wrong with these people?

Isn't it scary? Just like the Bush/Cheney coup.
But what is really weird is that this guy looks like a Cherub. I mean, like those men who like doing it with boys.

I'm sure Fox News will reveal Karl Rove's ties to the McCain campaign as soon as MSNBC reveals Keith Olbermann's position as the offical mouthpiece of the DailyKooks and official cheerleader of Barak Obama on cable TV.

I won't hold my breath.

Karl Rove is not a man of TRUTH. So anybody who works for him or with him is the biggest LIAR in the world. Why would the FOX liars tell you the truth? What's in it for them?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:01 PM on 05/20/2008

Although Rove is a mess, he humors me when he offers his so-called advice, for either H or O, as he has offered in the past.

Last year,I recall him saying Obama would be the more difficult of the candidates for the Repug's to go up against; and now I guess he has "second thoughts"... NOW HILLARY CAN WIN!! for the moment.

Hmm..I can see right through his "Stra-Tee-Gerr-Y".

They are dedicated every day to spreading republicon lies and promoting an agenda that has declared war on the middle class.

And you think they're going to pony up with anything remotely akin to the truth?

Take a reality pill and touch earth.

Seriously; anyone who watches Fox is contributing to its financial success. How stupid is that? I'll find out what goes on by reading Huffpo.
Boycott. The Cable boys and fox know how long viewers watch. It's kinda like cable is a receiver of your viewing time and what shows you watch. They, (cable companies) use this compiled info to get advertsers to pay Fox more money for showing it based on the numbers!
It's too easy to by-pass. Boycott Fox!, lest you think you are a helpless lemming - (In which case, I'm not talking to you)

A very good point. But, the public should be very skeptical of all the "commentators". Most of them have an axe to grind and let it influence their discussion. Do you think O'Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh are pitch masters for McCain. You think NBC and MSNBC are pitch masters for Obama?

It is very hard to find objective reporting anywhere. Anywhere. I'm mostly surprised at the number of Republican pundants who have sacrificed their principles to pitch for the neocons.

Question everything you hear from the media. Assume it is very biased. So try to investigate multiple sides of every discussion.

Rove supports Republican candidates? Whoa. Who knew?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:09 PM on 05/20/2008

The more important question is why hasn't Rove, or any of the other traitors who have shown such contempt for our laws and constitution, been held accountable under the Rule of Law?

If people that knowingly and contemptiously break our laws are not held accountable, soon, there will no longer be any Rule of Law. It will be replaced with only the rule of power. And it hardly takes a Ph. D. in history to know what happens then: Fascism, and eventually, a nation left in ashes.

Common accountability under the common Rule of Law is a necessary element in any democracy.

When those that are charged with enforcing the law are no longer functionally bound by the law, it's just a matter of time until you see the growing hold of fascism on government power and the lives of the People.

It's much easier to keep a democracy than it is to win in back.

See you in November . . . but don't wait till then, demand at every opportunity that your government be accountable to the People, and under our Constitution and the Rule of Law.

been held accountable under the Rule of Law?

So, sue him,Comrade moshe.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:43 PM on 05/20/2008

Moshe...I'm surprised at your comment. I thought you to be more fair-minded.

The Bush Administration acted hastily in pushing for the war resolution. Once we began the occupation, the Bush Administration managed the occupation very poorly and shortsighted. I think we all know that to be true.

But fair-minded Americans have a hard time believing that Bush lied about anything associated with the lead up to the war. Even the Downing Street Memo, which is said to be the most damning document against the Bush Administration, states that the intelligence was thin about WMD. (not false...thin. Big difference.)

That's why the Democratic Congress won't go after anyone in the Bush Administration. Despite all of their rhetoric, Congress knew the intelligence was thin, not false. And Congress overwhelmingly voted for the war resolution anyway. (largely because President Bush had a 70% approval rating at the time)

In short, the Bush Administration didn't break any laws. If they had, they would have already been prosecuted.

Actually, the stuff about Iraq buying uranium from Niger WAS false, and was known at the time to be false- it had even been removed from a speech for just that reason, months before bush used it in the State of the Union.
