The AP reports on Clinton's latest proclamations about how long she plans to contest the Democratic nomination:

In an interview Wednesday with The Associated Press, Clinton said she is willing to take her fight to seat Florida's and Michigan's delegates to the convention if the two states want to go that far.

Asked whether she would support the states if they appeal an unfavorable rules committee decision to the convention floor, the former first lady replied:

"Yes I will. I will, because I feel very strongly about this."

"I will consult with Floridians and the voters in Michigan because it's really their voices that are being ignored and their votes that are being discounted, and I'll support whatever the elected officials and the voters in those two states want to do."

Taking her battle to the convention would fly in the face of an increasing number of party leaders who say the contest needs to be wrapped up shortly after the last primary on June 3 to prepare adequately for the fall election.

Asked if she now envisioned the race extending beyond June 3, Clinton replied: "It could, I hope it doesn't. I hope it's resolved to everyone's satisfaction by that date, because that's what people are expecting, but we'll have to see what happens."

In other remarks made Wednesday Clinton continued to press her case for the nomination, intensifying her language by comparing the Florida and Michigan recount to the Civil Rights movement. As the Politico first reported:

Hillary Clinton compared her effort to seat Florida and Michigan delegates to epic American struggles, including those to free the slaves and win the right to vote for blacks and women.[...]

"This work to extend the franchise to all of our citizens is a core mission of the modern Democratic party," she said. "From signing the Voting Rights Act and fighting racial discrimination at the ballot box to lowering the voting age so those old enough to fight and die in war would have the right to choose their commander in chief, to fighting for multi-lingual ballots so you can make your voice heard no matter what language you speak."

The great irony that I see - especially now that Floridians are popping out of the woodwork and into the courts like so many preemptive champagne corks - is that by violating the DNC's rules and refusing to be a part of the process Florida and Michigan's local Democratic leadership effectively transformed themselves into "special interests".

I wonder what role Detroit's desire to build higher profit margin gas-guzzlers and the "Hey, oil wells up and down Florida's coasts wouldn't pollute - that would be money you smell!" faction in Florida played?

Her argument for seating FL and MI as they voted as a matter of disenfranchisement is totally disingenious. For is this happens, then all of the voters who stayed home because they were told their votes will not count will be disenfranchised, and would have grounds for legal recourse.

BUT . . .

She's hoping against hope that . . . uh . . . "something" . . . happens earlier . . .

Say, uh, in June.

WORD on the street is that the superdelegates have been on the phone all weekend - including AL GORE, who rose from his public torpor to privately ask Senator Clinton, to "Please, for the sake of the party, and for your and Bill's sake, get out of this thing while you've still a chance to play a role in a victory this year."

She's done.

Votes are in next week.

She won't have a fight to take to the convention in August. The game will end in June, either her way or Obama's way. But it will end. That's what I've found out so far. So let's hope it ends Obama's way because I don't know a soul who would vote for her.

http://www.infowars.com/?p=2325 - this is an interesting read on why she said what she said yesterday. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Funny. The dems want the entire politcal process to be fair and square, May majority of them now are belly aching because one of their own want to see the process out. Typical double standard, by the party of double standards. Why don't you want your fellow dem. to get all the rights she has coming? Are you afraid it's going to embarass Obama and show even more of his weaknesses? Of course it is!! LOL Let no vote go uncast you belly achers!!

Excuse me? Let every vote count? There were people in Florida and Michigan who did not vote because they were told their primary would not count. Furthermore, I seem to remember your sanctimonious candidate agreeing that these two primaries shouldn't count when she thought she had this thing wrapped up.

I'm delighted Hillary has stayed in so long.
Every week she remains in the race we have gotten to know the candidates better.

I started out very impressed with Obama and disliking Clinton.
Now I find Clinton admirable and Obama an empty suit.

Funny, all the people I've talked to who voted for her on super Tuesday would now vote for Barack if they could in light of her complete descent into Rovian tactics.

Funny, all the people I've talked to would vote for Hillary over Obama after they learned of Rev. Wright.

Face it, your guy won't get elected. Hope for Hillary to pull this off.

Respectfully, I don't believe that anyone has gone from admiring Obama to thinking he is an empty suit. Much less believable is anyone growing to respect Hillary more over time.

HRC has more lives than a black cat. I envision her somehow turning this on Obama and making this his fault that she put her foot in her mouth. I don't think that she will give up this easily....she wants to be president and will settle for nothing less.

I will say that there is only one way to stop this, write your representatives, either republican or democrat.
She will not stop until she is destroyed and driven from the party. She has already galvanized her supporters so do not try to reason with them.

Please send an Email to your representatives:

Sirs,

I had hopes that I had finally found someone who would be a voice for me, Senator Obama. I am saddened to find that the hope I once had is slowly slipping away.
I had hoped that the democratic party would stand up to Senator Clinton after her race baiting comments "Hard working Americans, White Americans", but to my disappointment that is not the case.

My pledge to you:

I will not vote for her.
I will not vote for Obama/HRC...
I will donate to any campaign that apposes Hillary Clinton...in any elected office
I will donate to campaigns either Republican or Democrat that appose people who are her supporters.

My disgust in the Democratic Party has helped me find my own voice. That voice will be against you and all those that stand with her.

McPander: You have got to be kidding with this.
Writing a letter to your representative, won't get Hillary out of the race.

You can't force Hillary out of the race, until your candidate secures the nomination.

You know Hillary supporters can write letters too, you bozo.

44 years old and have never voted. I have two biracial children that deserve better than her comments.

I will vote this year. I will contribute.

The democratic party fills me with discussed at this point, as I stated in my message.

One of the talking points of the Democratic Party rewritten here is:

"The Democratic Party will end the Republican Culture of corruption and restore a government as good as the people it serves."

Does this promise apply to other Dems and Demogogues as well? I certainly hope so. Since I don't believe the "culture of"corruption" exist exclusively amongst Republicans.

Subject in point: Hillary Clinton a Democratic candidate What gets deliberately ignored by the public and media alike is the degree to which her pandering and deceptive practices are undermining Dems and the American voters!

Hillary now promises to take her bid for the nomination all the way to the floor of the convention. Senator Clinton plans to fight not only for the seating of the errant Florida and Michigan delegations, but to have all their popular votes counted in her favor. The writer quotes that she "feels strongly about this!"

She likens herself to a 'great redeemer' whose role compares to freeing the slaves or fighting for Civil rights of Blacks & Women to vote.

An earlier post on HuffPo that I revisited today stated that a Clinton campaign donor offered one million dollars to members of the Young Democrats of America as the price for two of their Superdelegate's favorable votes for Hillary at the convention. Sounds like bribery to me. Disgusting! Disgusting because I knew that this insult would go unchallenged by the Dems & MSM as usual. Why is she tolerated? Superdelegates COULD stop this now.

Governor Paterson's own feelings regarding this on audio courtesy of TPM:

http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/

he happened to be at the original meeting - and Hillary had 12 supporters vote to disenfranchise the Fl and MI voters (her supporters were the majority)

Yes, that's true. And Gov Patterson, who endorses her, is now calling for her to step down and help unify the party.
