Michelle Obama joined the ladies of "The View" for Tuesday's show as a cohost, and the first guest was Matthew Broderick. In April Broderick's wife Sarah Jessica Parker sat on the same show and said how their five-year-old son James Wilkie is a huge Barack Obama fan, even imitating his enthusiasm. Michelle asked why, and then explained in part why kids seem so drawn to her husband.

I love the idea of little kids in the White House. It really keeps the Pres thinking about what he is handing off to them. This is a truly great moment in time.

Wonder what they will tell James if Michelle really does have a "whitey" tape out there supposedly in the possession of Giuliani?

My 6-yr. old grandson is reluctant to say Barack Obama unless I say it first, but when he sees his picture he automatically points and says "that's our next president, huh gramma." I love that.

Out of the mouths of babes... I think that as we get older, we get more exposed to life's vicissitudes and become less trusting, more cynical, and a little colder about the world around us. Children are, for the most part, still untainted by that world, so they can look at a stranger speaking and pick up on things we as older folks don't see anymore, from everything about how the person is speaking and presenting him or herself to how people in general are responding to the person. Not that this is an entirely reliable indicator: I liked Nixon when I was a kid, but then again, I also liked Hubert Humphrey, but I liked Nixon more (there is definitely no accounting for taste). I take it as a good sign that children and young people have been more in Obama's camp than in any other.

I agree with you only a moron or a child could be naive enough to fall for this hypocrite.
It is... just like taking candy from a baby.

So, Martin Luther King was great..as long as he is not a living person but an impossible iconic person about whom we now must agree in retropsect was great.
I can tell you that certain people said the similar, horrible things about King when he was alive that is being said now about Obama..only they hid away in dark corners where ignorance thrives and were not in the mainstream. For a reference, view the Stone film JFK and watch the scene where in a New Orleans bar, the Kennedy assassination is announced on TV to the shock and grief of most of the people...but to the cheers of a few disturbed individuals.

What Michelle said is true. My kids - 7, 4, and 2 - have each in their own way shown their first interest in Politics through Obama. My seven-year old first asked about elections and the presidency after seeing Obama speak. "Barack Obama" was the first long name+surname that my four-year old even spoke (though he shortened it up to a four syllable single word -"Backobama" - kinda like Elvis or Madonna. And among the baby's first words - along with mommy, daddy, and barely recognizable versions of her brothers' names - has been "bama," copying her brothers. Children seem to see what some adults refuse to - that at his core, Obama is genuine.

I got a VM from my sons teacher about a month ago and she was still laughing between words. What she called to report was that a mixed kid walked into class with a suit and tie on and my son shouted " you look like the president Barck Obama"!!! So my sons teacher called in other teachers to tell them what my son said and they were all laughing. Him being confused about his very serious comment also told them that if they watched Cris Matthew's on msnbc they would know who Barack is?!!!

my son is 6

Matthew Broderick committed a vehicular homicide in Ireland in 1985, killing a mother and daughter after getting tanked on booze and then getting behind the wheel. He was fined all of $175 and allowed to return to the states. You gotta love european justice. No wonder crime in that region is so high. So shove off you murderer. This is the amorality of Holly wood and the media that they give this criminal the time of day. He should be ostracized like O.J. Simpson.

Your president has murdered hundreds of thousands of civilians in Iraq, as well as thousands of American soldiers.

Gotta love GOP Justice.

Wow, not only is it irrelevant it's also a twisted account of what really happened. You pulled out the intoxication allegation from thin air. He was charged for reckless driving simply because he foolishly forgot to stay onthe legal side of the road while driving. As someone used to driving onthe right side of the road he caused a fatal accident when didn't stay on the left.

It's sad, but still an accident. You can only castigate someone so much for something that was unintentional.

Exactly how does your post have anything remotely to do with MO? Because the man's son (and possibly Broderick) supports BO, you're vilifying him as if his support of BO means nothing or that Broderick is somehow "tainted" or immoral. So not only are people like you smearing BO and MO, but anyone who supports them...is that it? So typical of the ignorant or the self-righteous...which one are you?

I heard of Broderick's accident in Ireland years ago. From my understanding, driving on the wrong side of the road was a factor, which can happen since Ireland drives on the left side. I've mistakenly done that myself in countries where the car's steering wheel is on the right side. I never heard there was alcohol involved, but perhaps it was...I don't know. But regardless, Broderick received due process from the Irish courts and whatever the final sentence was, I am sure it wasn't influenced strongly by Broderick being an American actor. If he was driving drunk, what possible motive would the Irish courts have by simply letting him off the hook?

Let's all pray to God that YOU never make a unintended mistake...such as accidently losing control of your car to avoid hitting a dog but then kill an innocent child on the sidewalk. Would you want to be damned and condemned for life because of that? Be very careful of the stones you throw or the moral judgments you make on others.

My 4 yr old niece was initially going for Hillary because she is a woman, now that Hillary has dropped out, she is supporting Obama, because according to her McCain is an "old old man". That was the funniest conversation that i had this wknd.

My 3 year old granddaughter loves Barack! She chants - 'fired up, ready to go!' & 'Yes,we can" !
My son took her with him to vote in the primary & she walked into the room & yelled: "Where's Barack Obama?!"....the woman greeter was holding a Hillary sign....
But the best was the picture she drew for me - a big circle, happy face, prominent ears....& told her Mom to write on the paper: 'This is Barack Obama" !
My beloved son was a Women's Studies minor at college, which was great.....but that devotion got a bit misdirected this year & he voted for Hillary. He sees the light now & chants with his daughter & me.....YES WE CAN !

My 3 year old daughter also chants "yes we can" all the time.

Of course, that's because she likes Bob the Builder which is about on an intellectual par with the complexity of the Ob-ama campaign and the degree of critical thought exercised by the Kult. But at least we have some common ground. :)

Michelle Obama is a total Intelligent and lovely Female, who has succeeded in everything!

Mrs Obama will bring another level of class to the White House we haven't seen!

Mrs. Laura Bush is classy also! She even understand what Michelle was saying on being Proud of her Country. When the Lying Right Wingless Media twisted it! Thank you Mrs. Bush!

If ever my wish would be, is to meet Mrs. Obama and thank her for being who she is, PERFECT!

I love Michelle Obama! She is smart, beautiful, funny, bright, capable, and loyal. What more could anyone want in a First Lady? I hope " they" don't remake her into some grotesque black Barbie doll character. We are finally on the road to success in America where everyone, once again, might get a chance to reach their potential. After eight years of destruction, greed, murder and torture, we will have the Obamas to support and work for. There's a slim ray of hope on the horizon thanks to these amazing people.

Very Cute. My two year old cousin who lives in a house of Clinton supporters, has publicly made his endorsement for Obama. He could only say Obama. Anytime Hillary's name was mentioned in the house he would shout out Obama. At first I did not believe it, but they placed on the phone and for thirty minutes, he continued to shout out Obama. Funny!

5 year old James Wilke likes the "man" to beat the "lady"- UH OH...now Obama is going to have to RENOUNCE, REBUKE, CONDONE....his endorsement.

Seriously speaking- the theory goes kids can sense things about people, maybe there is some truth to that.
