A Bible verse taped to a whiteboard in Floyd Brown's office that he uses to track his efforts to attack Senator Barack Obama reads, "That is why for Christ's sake I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties."

Mr. Brown, 47, a 6-foot-6 bear of a man is perhaps best known for his involvement with the Willie Horton television advertisement that helped sink Michael S. Dukakis's candidacy in 1988. Mr. Brown has had much in his career to be delighted about as the source of scores of conservative assaults on Democrats that have earned him their lasting enmity.

Mr. Brown is back to his trade of bludgeoning a Democratic candidate for president, producing an innuendo-laden advertisement that is being televised this week in Michigan, albeit sparsely on cable, questioning Mr. Obama's religious background.

I have a better Bible verse for Floyd Brown to live by:

2 Peter 1:5-11 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge; self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hopefully, this time my post will be posted.

It never ceases to amaze me how men can malign, tell lies about, and totally destroy someone's
image in the name of God. And before you go there, Rev. Wright does not fit into this category.

The men I'm talking about are those who use our laws to cause dissention, separation, and chaos among all people. When was it that we, the people, allowed candidates to destroy each other's character? I don't remember receiving that memo. That's something that government did all by themselves to attack each other. And now they expect us to LIKE it? I don't think so.

We prefer that they stick to the issues and not play DIRTY pool like they have become accustomed to doing. If Floyd Brown thinks that the people of America will accept whatever nastiness he draws out of his sewer, he will be mistakenly surprised. Only those who have no desire to vote for Obama in the first place will be amused with that garbage. Normal people with more than 1/2 a brain will ignore that crap as being exactly what it is.

Floyd Brown needs to go back to his church and ask forgiveness from God for doing the devil's work.

The haters will believe that for sure, but that is so crazy it even sounds stupid. It doesn't take big notions to satisfy little minds. Those who would not vote for Obama no matter what will be totally convinced with whatever floyd brown regurgitates up with his flem.

Brown obviously has no clue what that particular pericope of scripture taped to his white board means. I have no problem with his decision to oppose Senator Obama. After all, this is America, and he has a right to his opinion. However, since he self identifies as an evangelical, they way he does what he does unfortunately has a negative effect on Christians in general. Lies and innuendo are not how a Christian is supposed to communicate, yet that is what folks like Brown and the so called Religious Right have done in earnest since the 1970s. It is sickening.

Please don't allow yourself to be misled by the Huffpo headline or Mr. Luo's NYT's article. The GOP has about $300 MILLION on hand, now, to pour into their swift boat smear machines. In the next few months, just a few filthy rich reichwingers (and there are many of them) can double that, at will.
The GOP is never without money to fund smear.
The GOP IS money.

They don't have to smear Obama, they will just tell the truth about Obama. Obama was asked about his friend William Ayers, the WEATHERMEN TERRORIST, and Obama acted like he hardly knew him, Obama said, "He is just a guy from my neighborhood" What Obama doesn't want to mention is his close friendship with Ayers, Obama first run for State Senate was planned in Ayer's living room. Ayer's late father was CEO of Commonwealth Edison, now known as Exelon, and was a political powerbroker in Chicago. Obama and Ayers served together on the board of the Woods Foundation, giving money to liberal groups and ideas, and also joined forces to apply for $100 million from the Annenberg Challenge. The Annenberg Challenge doled out $500 million, and matching funds were provided by corporations to reform education. Ayers and Obama did get the Chicago area grant of about $100 million and gave it to people to further their political ideas about education. This turned out to be a waste of money though because after all the money was spent education DID NOT IMPROVE in the places they spent they money, but I'm sure it helped raise the profile of Obama.

It is a sad truth that these emotional scare tactics work. The real challenge is to immunize the public against this kind of shallow deception, but only a strong media can do that. Information is the best weapon against propaganda. Unfortunately, we have a lot of work to do before we can ignore people like Floyd Brown.

If we had a media THAT WORKS, we wouldn't have a problem ignoring his kind. But our media AS IS will only glorify his statements by spreading them even more so throughout their networks. Our problems stem from the media, not brown.

GOP has come and gone, time for change. Out with the old and in with the new. We know what the GOP has done, and it's not great to continue to divide this country and for the Mosiac Society that it is supposed to be, or are those just words with double standards again?

The Willie Horton ad did not defeat Dukakis; American gullibility to the televised insanity of a bigot did that. For all of the touted intelligence out there many miss the crucial fact concerning this and every other election. Its not about the candidate, it is about the voter. Your vote represents you. If you sign off on hate you are a hater, do not be fooled. If Americans sign off on hate in large enough numbers as to produce a majority then we seat politicians in power based on mandates of hate - G. H. W. B. Who can be proud of this? Floyd Brown is weak, does not know what life is, and has wasted a lot of the time God gave him on the unworthy pursuit of cash, political favor, and hatred through advertisement. His resume is weak by that fact. His accomplishments are meaningless by that fact. He has done no more than has a bum lying in the streets for his product amounts to nothing of substance and lasting value. However, he made money and he became infamous. What a man! What a country, who bought into the lowly nature of this man! Suckas!

True that! Manipulators start with something you want to believe and then they throw on so much crap so fast that you forget the original issue. With McBush you keep hearing experience, experience, experience but what's exactly been his experience?

War- he got caught and waited to get rescued. Jessica Lynch did that. And by today's standards, since he lived, we can't say he was tortured.
Ethics - Keating 5 Savings and Loan Crisis
Promises Kept - ask his first wife about that
Government Service- long time member of the biggest bunch of crooks ever

Obama's weak spot? There's lots of people who really, really don't want to vote for a black man. This guy can give them what they want, way to do that while feeling good about themselves.

No one with true love of country and of good conscience, which are not mutually exclusive, can vote for John McCain. That leaves betrayers of democracy, hypocrites of hate, and the delusional and thereby mentally damaged, as his base.

And with the media's help, his attacks will only be more insidious because all the major media will pounce on it and glorify it even more. They will do their natural synopsis and breakdowns and polls and all the crap they usually do just to play the point up even more. Eventually, more and more people begin to believe it more and more each day so that's how it works. But those of us who know the game now and REFUSE to play it will stand tall and strong for Obama no matter WHAT THEY SAY AND HOW THEY SAY IT, and that includes THE MEDIA scumbags who perpetrate it.

Someone needs to remind Mr. Brown of the Bible verse that reads, "What man menat for evil, God meant for good". Perhaps he will not have the needed funds thisi go ground for a smear attack against Obama.

Here's an idea: Let's keep God and bible quotes in church and Sunday school...and out of political campaigns.

You're right about that I'm sure, but it's hard to separate God from people who truly believe in Him and speak his words on a daily basis. So please excuse us because we don't know it better.

no offense, but there's a reason the 1st Amendment says freedom OF rather than FROM religion.

your statement of where to keep God and bible quotes seems to show you dont understand or appreciate that a person's faith doesn't start or end at the doors of their church. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, obviously, you've had bad experiences with people who professed a faith in God.
