Wow, the unity love is really gushing today.

Hillary spokesperson Mo Elleithee confirms that Bill and Hillary Clinton have now maxed out to Obama, donating $4600 to his campaign today.

It's a strong signal to the Clinton fundraising elite and donor base that the time has come to open the wallets for Obama. It comes a day after the Obamas similarly maxed out to Hillary's campaign to relieve it of debt.

And Barack and Michelle maxed to help Hillary retire her huge, irresponsible campaign debt. It's a wash.

blogger Murphy of Puma Pac says it best, that the democrats had a 'selection process' rather than an election process.
I don't find any value in Sen. Obama and will vote against my party, probably will change my party affliation as will most likely thousands of other democrats...We want our democratic party back from the radical left.

So it was only a 'selection process' even though all was done properly and according to law, huh? Think perhaps you feel this way only because your candidate lost?

If you do not find any value in Senator Obama and will vote against him, who will you vote for?
Nader (exceptionally long shot to win)? McCain (for the war, against complete benefits for returning vets, against women's rights, no economic policy to speak of, voted to impeach Hillary's husband)?

Are you really confident that thousands of other Dems will be marching away form the part y with you? I have a feeling that once they take a look at the other options for Prez they will stay right where they are and decide to support our democratic nominee, Barrack Obama!

rubicon101, be patient. The party is so dysfunctional because of its weak leadership. They'll see this experiment with the inexperienced doesn't work and will eventually get back to what they used to stand for. It may take a few years but it will happen...IF the party survives. And if it doesn't, oh, well. A new one will rise that will be better and stronger! My hope is a strong third party will arise in the next 4 years from this mess. It's long overdue. Two parties just don't serve our country well anymore.

In the meantime, I'm kind of feeling "free" being an independent for the first time in my life. Aren't you? I used to make excuses for the Democratic candidate like so many here do but I don't have to do that anymore. It's really a good feeling just being a voter with no allegiance to any party. My only allegiance is to my country. Now...if I can find a candidate worthy of my vote, it would even be better!

The best of luck to you with that. Clearly, it's your vote and you can do as you choose; however, I am an Obama supporter and for you to label us all radical left is an absurdity. You just lost all credibility by tossing about hyperbole and rhetoric. Obviously, for you it was a personality contest and your pick didn't win. For me, it's about the issues and I KNOW Obama is better for me, my family, and my country then McCain is. Obama and Clinton are close on the issues. McCain is worlds away.

There is a qualitative difference between 0bama's donors and C1inton's donors. His give in order to make America a better place; hers give in order to buy influence.

To multi-millionaires like Billary, giving somebody $4,600.00 is the precise equivalent of giving somebody the time of day.

Why are people thinking that the Obamas donated $4,600.00 to Clinton's campaign and the Clintons donated the same amount to Obama's camping, it is a wash.

If the Obamas did not donate the $4,600.00 to Clinton's campaign; Hillary will still be about $20Mil in debts; now that Obama has donated; Hillary is now ($20Mil - $4,600.00) in debts.

If the Clintons would have kept their donation to themselves, Hillary's campaign would have still been $20Mil in the hole; if the Clintons instead gave that money to Hillary's campaign; She would have loaned her campaign a total of approx. ($10Mil + $4,600.00); which means her campaign debt would have increased to ($20Mil + $4,600.00).

On the other hand, if Obama would have given the money he donated to Hillary's campaign to his campaign, his campaign would have been in debt to him to the the tune of that amount.

So I do not see any wash here, you have to remember that four distinct and separate entities were involved here. viz: 1.) The Obamas 2.)The Clinton's 3.)Obama's Campaign & 4.)Hillary's Campaign. These four entities are unque and are treated differently under the law.

So actually, the O's gave 4600 to their campaign and the C's paid 4600 toward their debt. Correct?

At least they did it discreetly, not in a publicized meeting to get press and votes.

Uh, it was all over the MSM, too. Every wonder how they knew?

I have a feeling it was the only alternative Bill could think of to tearing up the Obamas' check. You know, all alpha-dog, "I'll pay the bill" ..."No, I've got it." etc.

I think it was to undercut his gesture to pay down Clinton's debt. Kind of like, "Here. After how you treated us, we don't want your money."

But...at least the MSM played it up positively. (It's the Clintons, after all. Whatever Bill says, Fox and CNN and ABC LOVE them!).

I think you are misreading it. I think it is a show of unity from both sides. It's just politics as usual. (And, by the way, in my opinion, the media has given Obama a pass for fear of being called racist. They have been very nasty about Clinton.)

Emcee:
Hi, I"m Andy. Welcome to "Looking for Trouble." Tonight we"re going to take a close look at the so-called Clinton-Obama "love fest" " or was it more like a custody hearing. I"ve brought in two body language experts, Wanda and Duane. Why do you think there was so much smoldering hatred beneath all that good will?

Wanda
Well, Andy, sometimes it"s what you don"t see that counts the most. Did you notice that they didn"t do the terrorist thumb bump?.

Duane
And when Obama was talking about joining with Hillary to build a better world, he pinched his thumb and forefinger "this big" instead of extending his hands in a big outward circle?

Andy
You mean he'll restrict her campaigning to Rhode Island?

Duane
You betcha, Andy.

Wanda
And also, Wyoming studies indicate that pinching thumb and forefinger together disrespects Mormons of Indian descent. Say "sayonara" to 100 votes on that one, right Duane?

Duane
Right, Wanda. And how about the way Obama went "heh heh" after he warned Hillary not to sit back too far in that chair? That could cost him a large part of the "rocking chair" vote " especially in Arkansas and Eastern Kentucky.

Andy
And where was Chelsea? I hear from senior Clinton sources that she's miffed because the Obama people didn"t send her a tee-shirt.

Wanda
What sources were those, Andy.

Andy
I"d rather not say¦

McCain
I"m John McCain and I (heh heh) paid for this announcement.

Ha. But only for those who know its true. I had to turn off CNN and the body language expert "analyzing" what Obama "really" meant. She said something like, "When he was talking about how involved the Clintons would be he held his fingers only an inch apart to show 'a lot'. 'A lot' is really THIS wide (she throws her arms wide open) so you can tell he's doesn't really want them to be participating much at all."

Seriously. A body language expert. Analyzing the "Unity" meeting! For CNN!

What's next, an astrologer? "Hillary is a Scorpio while Obama is a Libra. When Mercury transits into the fifth house, as it is now, you can be sure that these two individuals will NOT have genuine harmony between them."

MSM. How low can they go? Blech.

Hey! Didn't the Marx brothers do that in a movie? The Clinton's gave the Obama's $4600 and visa versa. The Marx brother did that with identical salamis. The Marx brothers had a lot more integrity.

Escept the latest that I read, the Obamas still owe the Clintons for Michelle's salami.

The Clintons are maxed out, but I believe the Obamas still hanging on to half of a salami.
