Bobby Jindal: Vetting McCain's VP Prospects

With a fresh face, conservative credentials and a reformist streak, Bobby Jindal, 37 years old, has enjoyed his share of buzz as a potential vice-presidential pick. John McCain will have to decide if that excitement is enough to supplement Jindal's four and a half years of experience as an elected official.

Jindal won the 2007 governor's race, making him the youngest serving governor in the country and the first with family roots in India. Shortly after taking office this year, he pushed a major ethics overhaul through the Louisiana legislature, which has had its share of ethical challenges; the move delivered on a campaign promise and solidified Jindal's reputation for reform, something he shares with McCain.

If Gov. Jindal wants to eradicate the male sex offenders, he needs to infiltrate every household in the U.S., where most sex offenders live and flourish. Family members (fathers, brothers, uncles, boyfriends) outnumber the traditional male sex offenders by a very large factor. It is these "hidden" offenders who contribute to the innocent going off the track in adulthood, repeating the same offenses and wreaking havoc on the innocents in public .Children aren't born to offend. Adult transgressions historically reach back to earlier contributing factors.

Imagine, the Republicans are so afraid of losing control of the South that they invite this bastion of neo-conservativism to the dance. Born in the US of Punjab Indian parents, Jindal is a 100% pro-life, a strident anti-environmentalist, a member of the ultra conservative "Republican Study Committee", pro NRA and has voted with the Republican Caucus, 97 percent of the time during the 109th Congress. Interestingly he was raised Hindu, converted to Catholicism, and witnesses before both Baptist and Pentecostal congregations. Now that's democratic! Surely, we can look forward to a sea of policy changes with Bobby advising..., all bad!

Given the 2006 mid-terms, how can anyone possibly envisage public support swinging to an even more conservative, corporately funded, anti-environmental, war-like administration, when Bush's has failed so miserably ?

Chemical "castration" (like real, physical castration) may diminish the offender's sex drive. But if it leaves him greatly embittered toward women, I'm inclined to think that his hostility will be manifested other ways, e.g., murder.
