Why Caroline Kennedy Needs Obama

If Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg is crazy for Barack Obama, the guy must really be something special, right?

This, clearly, is the line of thinking Team Obama hopes voters will follow as it thrusts the lone surviving child of John F. Kennedy to the fore of its presidential effort. First there was Kennedy Schlossberg's endorsement of the candidate during the primaries, followed by her appearance in a campaign ad and at multiple rallies for him. Then, upon securing the nomination, Obama promptly tapped Kennedy Schlossberg for his vice-presidential selection committee.

Critics may deride Kennedy Schlossberg as an unqualified and twitty political dilettante, but it doesn't take a strategy expert to grasp why Obama has carved out such a prominent role for her. She is a Kennedy. She is a woman. Better still, up to this point she has largely steered clear of the unseemly business of electoral politics. Instead, she has nurtured the family legacy by quietly tending the memories of others: first dad, then mom, and even brother John. In a family full of paparazzi magnets, self-promoters, and aspiring political stars, Kennedy Schlossberg has long glowed softly in the minds of many as the Great Custodian--an eternally gracious, dignified, selfless link to a purer, more buoyant political age.

I think it would be great if we continue to re-elect Chuck Schumer. He is the first NY Senator in a long time to know their is an upstate/western New York. Hillary does visit as time allows. I think we will see more of her in the future.

The scales of history will judge President John F. Kennedy kindly and Robert F. Kennedy as the transformative leader of great promise. Were you adult enough to be alive and see JFK and RFK in action? If you had lived through that time, you would hold them in high esteem unless of course you are a partisan conservative. They had feet of clay, but they were a cut above anything we have seen, until perhaps Obama today. Time will tell the future, but time has told the past.

Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg had a full life before the Obama candidacy and she'll have a full life after he becomes President. Must you attribute the most base motives that guide your life to others like Caroline? She never sought attention for being a Kennedy and, believe me, she had nothing but opportunity to do just that. Let her be. Ms. Kennedy Schlossberg's motives are pure. In writing this article, can you say the same for yours?

Uncle Ted made Jimmy walk all over the convention stage to get a handshake. obama gives prez clinton the raz. obama won his senate seat in Illinois because of white power (mostly the Daly machine) He goes to Springfield and is a good boy by being "present." Then obama wins the US senate seat by a jerri ryan's sex thing. The big problem is that obama is being handled. Instead of a true leader he must be told where to be and where to goand what to say. Caroline enters and represents her uncle. There is a big war (maybe too strong) in the democratic party. FDR LBJ WJC were all leaders and had many friends behind them. Even Huffington is questioning obama's move to the right. This late in a campaign we should have a leader and supporters (who stay on the message).

She endorsed him in Massachusetts with her uncle Ted and he lost by 15 points, she campaigned from him in California and he lost by 10 points these are two of the most liberal states in America. OK what's the up side to her support.

Caroline Kennedy is a respectable person and as she has not flauted her opinion all over for years, the fact that she said anything about a candidate speaks volumes. She has teenaged daughters, as does her cousin Maria Shriver and it is said those young women influenced their mothers decisions.
