There have been reports of Obama's difficulty winning over Hispanic voters, but the latest Gallup polls suggest they're a little exaggerated:

Hispanic registered voters' support for Barack Obama for president remained consistent and strong in June, with Obama leading John McCain by 59% to 29% among this group.

While Hispanics generally preferred Hillary Clinton to Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination, a solid majority of Hispanics have consistently backed Obama against McCain in general-election trial heats. Obama has led McCain by about a 2-to-1 margin since Gallup began tracking general-election voting preferences in early March.

Read more about Hispanic voters here.

I'm a hugh Obama supporter but I don not agree with him on immigration that's why Hillary lost so many supporters , when she walked around tauting "there is no such thing as an illegal immigrant" that lost her the primaries, When Sen. Obama said he would hold true to the consitution, his supporters could live with that.

No person in this planet is "illegal". Maybe Martians would be "illegal". People that came illegaly are call "undocumented". This is correct. A person does not have legal documents to be here. The persons status can be illegal, the status, but not the person. Hillary is correct.

Voters have been misled by the Clintons' spins that Obama has problems with this group and that and the media just carried them on and on and they became truths. Obama couldn't win the majority of voters if these problems are deciding factors. They are not. It's so obvious that Hispanics supported Hillary due to her name as a Clinton. Nothing else. The same for African Americans until Bill Clinton demeaned Obama. The main thing is: Hispanics are for Democrat. Period!

The media has been trying to manufacture a Black/Latino confrontation for nearly a decade now; underlying it has always been the white fear of Blacks growing to powerful. Whites are eager not to have to deal with Blacks and need to create ways to make Blacks as a whole less relevant. They would have created an abritrary group called English-speaking voters, but that would have been too ridiculous. LOL

Of course Obama doesn't have a problem with Hispanics -- that was just all Clinton-psychodrama bulls#*t.

But, if the Rethuglicans want to believe it, let them.

Obama Tsunami in November!

Obama's Jewish problem is also a myth, except with right-wing, neo-Con Jews who never vote Democratic anyway, under 25% of the Jewish population. The other 75% will vote for Obama, just as they have always voted Democratic.

Lots of Obama signs where many Latinos live, in my town.

I believe all Obama's electoral "problems" are invented by the press or by his former opponent.

With Bill Richardson as the next Secretary of State, or even Obama's VP, the Black/Brown schism

that the GOP is hoping for will be easily bridged. Look for key Cabinet slots to be announced well

before the election. The proposed appointment of John Edwards as Atty Gen will please liberals,

and Chuck Hagel @ Defense will win over many Republicans leery of McClone and the Iraq war.

I also expect to see the VP nod to go to Wes Clark for his military expertise and NATO experience.

Really !! In all these months, I've never heard McC say anything except ....mush - none of what he says seems to mean anything at all - & at least some kind of charisma ? Nope.

As a Hispanic woman, I can attest to this. All my family and friends support Obama. The corporate own media is always inventing conflict. Ratings and the bottom line, their number one priority. Truth in reporting? Not in this media

The MSM just needs to keep creating provocative topics during the summer, otherwise we'd all be lying in our hammocks instead of watching the evenin' news, waiting for that Obama landslide in Nov. -

I also look forward to legislation being passed to bring the 12-20 million people who are here illegally "out of the shadows" and put them on "a pathway to citizenship" after paying a fine and learning English. It is the practical, humane and moral thing to do.

I look forward to YOU paying $10 a pound box for strawberries because someone earned a legal wage to pick them.

It's a complicated issue and somehow the greedy people who benefit from illegal labor - who employ these people and keep them in this country, and keep them poor - never get blamed for anything.

It they're legal they can pay for their own healthcare, housing, and ss benefits and the identity theft will stop because they will have SS #'s of their own.

As long as not a one of them gets citizenship before anyone waiting in the queue who went the legal route.

Anything less is a slap in the face to those who followed the lawful path.

Do you mean in the same manner that Europeans slapped the faces of Native Americans with their illegal and immoral invasion? Oh, wait, that was murder, rape, and outright genocide...that's just a little different. Good job completely ignoring your religion.

I would still like to see Obama campaigning in Latino neighborhoods with Hillary, Kennedy and/or Richardson. The Latino vote is very important especially in states like CO, NM and NV.

Just as I had suspected all along! I truly felt in my heart that Hispanics would not turn their backs on BO so readily without at least giving him a chance. The reason why there were claims that BO had a Hispanic voting problem is ONLY because the Clintons, the rabid right-wing talking heads and the biased MSM outlets said so! This so-called lack of Hispanic voter support was all in their minds or was simply fabricated to solely benefit the Clintons. The HRC campaign used this myth as a bludgeon, stating over and over that BO could not win major Hispanic votes...that only SHE could. I strongly felt that, once HRC was finally out of the race and could no longer spew her poison, BO would become much stronger with Hispanics.

HRC campaigned in Puerto Rico for what, about 5 days straight? And for all her efforts within an island commonwealth of almost 2.5 million people, she garnered less than 300K votes. It was all smoke and mirrors to pander to the Puerto Rican vote and to continue the myth that Hispanics strongly backed her nationwide and not BO.

I am glad that HRC and her remaining supporters are finally being proved wrong.

McKain had a chance to get Hispanic voters but he blew it when he tacked onto the Republican's now Xenophobic platform on immigration.

... and 2/3 of her 18,000,000 supporters now support Senator Obama, the Democratic nominee. I don't think there's any point in proving anyone right or wrong at this time. The primary is over, and we're all pretty much on the same page as Democrats. But throwing out this number, over and over again, as if it still means what it meant during the primary is still harping on the past with no relevance to the present.

18,000,000 Hillary supporters or 18,000,000 smart, "true" Democrats ?
If they were just Hillary supporters, then it must have been a high school prom decision =
& not a very important decision between an awful & destructive 8-yr. realm & what promises to be any true Democrat's refreshing new era ....
