The Washington Post reports:

Sen. John McCain hasn't had good luck joking about Iran. But he tried it again Tuesday.

Responding to a question about a survey that shows increased exports to
Iran, mainly from cigarettes, McCain said, "Maybe thats a way of killing them."

He quickly caught himself, saying "I meant that as a joke" as his wife, Cindy, poked him in the back.

Last time, it was also Iran. His singing about bombing Iran to the theme of the Beach Boy' "Barbara Ann" drew derision from many quarters but a "lighten up" response from McCain

Here's video:

Does this guy have to "look into it" on everything? That's always his answer. Jesus, if this guy gets elected, god help us all.

Disgusting, but be grateful for his honesty. No one can say we don't know what his intentions are.

You get em' McCain, send them Ahmadinijad Lits, with a cordite filter! Be sure to give them bonus packets of Zig-Zag wrappers laced with Polonium 210 for extra flavor.

It's time to play cowboys and jhadists.

Where's "The Duke" when we need him?

It seems our biggest export any more is our own jobs sent off-shore. So it was good to learn that consumer goods exported to Iran actually have increased ten-fold. That means Iran is actually making a contribution to our economy as one of our growing customers.

Yet, the potential next POTUS jokes loosely that maybe we could use those exported cigarettes to "kill" our Iranian customers.

How hard would we laugh if China joked they were using exported toys to kill American children?

First we sing: "bomb-bomb-bomb-bomb-bomb-Iran". Then we threaten to "totally obliterate" them. Now we propose to poison them with our cigarettes. And never is there a follow-up apology from anyone to the 70 million people of Iran and to the American people.

Remarks like these make us look like a country of arrogant fools led by an array of thugs and idiots.

Not everyone shares our "sense of humor" in this age of instant global communications. These comments make life harder fo our soldiers occupying Iraq. They harm our Middle East diplomacy efforts, and our global image in general. And they also will impact our ailing economy.

We are a country of 300 million people in a world of 6 billion--: a minority group of 5% on planet Earth. If we can't be more humble, more cooperative, let's at least be more mindful.

Republicans should feel embarrassed to offer this guy as their best choice to lead our country.

So sad! Are the Iranians not people? Are they not worthy of health and life?

And to think there is a large population that actually thinks this is being "tough" and therefore a good quality to have as a president.

For McCain, the idea of killing Iranians seems to have some kind of Orgazmik function. When he says Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran, he's hoping for multiple-orgazms.

McCain is One Very sick OLE man. I have cancer and this is offensive and evil.
"The OLE guy is in step with; Cheney, Bush Senior, baby Bush and Rumsfeld They have been running this country for 30 years and Profit through War or other Private Contracts. This is the difference between a Republican and a Democrat. These cronies intend to therefore finish "dis-mantling" all our "Public programs in favor of Privitization.
Why? These "no-bid, Private Contracts are handed to Corporations and Corp,'s have a legal Right to Profits' which they gain through Over-billing the U.S. taxpayer all with no Oversight, or Regulations.
Public programs have a Budget and Intense "oversight," and must follow Regulations. Medicare, soon to be ruined was not there to profit.
They claim Privitization is more "efficient" but in fact it 's not efficient ; just poorly managed- too many corners are cut and this creates dangerous results for the Public, but huge profits
This is the true Republican party's goal. Not building churches and waving a bible-saying they are the, family-value party. What a nice future for us! More Wars and more Profit's.
He is trying to unite us as enemies of Iran, to keep Haliburton and other's enriched.
We need a decent society and a man of high moral caliber...A man who can shift direction quickly, in this "fast-paced" global economy. It is no time to stay the course or we will financially Crash!

Let's see, the guy who is running for president in the U.S. keeps joking about bombing and killing the people of Iran, while the current president issues threats of the non-funny variety to Iran on a daily basis.

So I can't imagine why the people of Iran think they need weapons . . .

Just what this country needs, is a guy who likes to joke about killing people.
I guess that's how he thinks he sounds tough, when in reality he just sounds stupid
and inconsiderate to the people in the military who are then asked to back up
such silly and irresponsible politicians when they make huge blunder's like Iraq.
What a joke he is!

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable answer to a serious question -- not !

Also of interest is the part about "Cindy nudging him in the back" (presumably to keep him from putting his foot in his mouth , again). This is starting to look a lot like the Reagan years -- with President Nancy (& her fortune teller) telling Ronny what to say and actually running this country. Guess it comes with the territory when a geriatric is at the controls.

Now its Cindy's turn ?
