Army Secretary Pete Geren has asked his staff for an internal review to examine the Army's firing last month of Gina Gray, the former public affairs director of Arlington National Cemetery who had worked to restore media coverage of military funerals.

"The goal is to strike the right balance between the family's needs and wishes, which always are our top priority, and the interest of the press," Army spokesman Paul Boyce said in an e-mail.

"The Army continues to work with families and the media to ensure a respectful experience that honors the memories of our fallen soldiers and veterans," Boyce said, noting that the cemetery "hosts thousands of local reporters and national media as well as hundreds of documentary productions and book photographers each year."

The military brass and the Bush/Cheney/McCain republicans do not want burials attended by the media because the media would realize that the death toll numbers are greater than the administration reports.
Do some internet and Nexis-Lexis searches and folks will realize there is a discrepancy in the numbers that the media reports.
The administration pulled a fast one on the media and the American public by changing what is considered/defined as the field of combat so there are actually more deaths; they just do not get reported in those daily numbers that the military releases to the media.

Gina Gray, Thank You for reminding us what is truly important in Bush's Illegal Invasion of Iraq. It's OUR BELOVED TROOPS, especially those who have paid the Ultimate Sacrifice and deserve all the Respect, Love and Thanks from us.

It's time to allow the flag-draped coffins that arrive every day from Iraq to be seen. No names or destinations have to be divulged. The sight of those coffins will say more than any written word or newscast can.

Justice?

Don't hold your breath!

If justice was present she wouldn't have been fired in the first place and

admitting wrong doing is never going to happen.

Why most likely there will be promotions and medals given out.

It is amazing what these criminals continue to get away with. Does anyone even remember Bunny Greenhouse, who was similarly demoted and punished for having the temerity to question no-bid contracts and shady practices to steer taxpayer dollars to Cheney's friends at Halliburton?

Here's the earlier reporting by the Washington Post that also went nowhere:

The army made a mistake. They didn't fill that position with a graduate from a Christian college who is dedicated to furthering the Bush Administration's goals.

From this administration, 'Probe' = '6 month delay'.

You have to love this country. One of the few places on earth where the foxes get to guard the chicken coops.
