The McCain campaign dispatched its top female surrogate Tuesday to meet with about 25 disaffected supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton in Westchester, N.Y.

Carly Fiorina, the former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard Co. and a top adviser to Republican Sen. John McCain, met with the former Clinton backers at a private home for more than an hour and a half. Fiorina said in an interview that over glasses of iced tea and finger food, she fielded questions from Democratic women she described as "intensely uncomfortable with the notion of a President Obama.''

Both McCain and his Democratic rival, Sen. Barack Obama have both been courting the 17 million or so people who voted for the New York senator during the primary season.

The Westchester meeting came at the behest of former Clinton supporters, some of whom have said - adamantly - that they won't support Obama. Polls show Obama winning the majority of support from women voters while about a quarter of ex-Clinton supporters are leaning toward McCain. The meeting wasn't stocked with typical voters, however. These were prominent activists and fund-raisers, including several known as "Hillraisers,'' who raised more than $100,000 for Clinton during the primary season. "I didn't ask how many of them were Hillraisers but certainly a number of them were,'' Fiorina said.

Nor, Fiorina said, did she ask the women whether Clinton knew they had arranged the meeting with her. Clinton has endorsed Obama and urged her supporters to help defeat McCain.

wagging finger side to side.........

Why can't people just be honest? But, that would be too much like right! Those ladies and all other people like them, have a problem with a biracial/black man being POTUS. Dang! Why can't we just be real with ourselves, it would cut down on some of the unnecessary bs
.

Be real to yourself! Do you honestly believe you can read people's minds and look into their souls? I don't. Maybe they just don't agree with him on major issues. Maybe they just don't like him period and it wouldn't matter what color he is.

I know we all judge others by ourselves but, trust me, ust because you have problems with other races doesn't mean everyone does.

First of all...... I'm one OF the realest so don't get it twisted.....I never stated that I could read into peoples mind so, don't put words in my mouth. I do a mighty fine job of speaking for myself. Secondly, I could give two craps if people like him or not however, I'm sure they know nothing about him to cast a legit decision of whether they like him or not.

Last but not least, CLICHE COMING, I have friends of many races so speak on what you know about and I know for dang sure, you know nothing about the K-I-D!

Whenever I think of someone being called a 'flip flop', after they've changed their minds about something, I remember my favorite quote...

"a wise man/woman changes his/her mind often...a fool never does" :)

McCain couldn't even answer a question about birth control and women are still willing to support him. Crazy.

You know these "disgruntled" supporters are only looking for attention and the MSM is concentrating on their childish behavior instead of the numerous mistakes, gaffes, confused policies, etc. of McCain where they should be focused.

My 12 yr old came up with a plan yesterday, he is searching to find where these individuals receive their money so he can generate emails, complaints or just boycott their source of funds. All these women believe that have the power and as he states "money talks".

Good for you 12 year old. I'd like to know where their money comes from, too. They are fundraisers and I'd like to know who they raise money from, and what they promise; access? vetoes? certain regulations not enforced? Do they fear their sources now that their "inevitable" candidate lost?

I guess HRC is really "powerless" and not respected by these Hillraiser people who claimed to "support" her. When Obama asks something of his supporters we are happy to act on his behalf - that is power! and that is support! This is why other dems (and some republicans) hoping to win seats nationally are jumping on his coat-tails. If these women want to have access to the WH then they should back a winner and not a lame horse. No matter how much money you throw behind John McCain he is still John McCain and he will betray women everywhere. Maybe these few 25 women are privately and routinely abused by their husbands and McCain does'nt look so bad to them. So what if he calls his wife a c* nt maybe they have "pet names" at home too. scheeeech

You would have to be crazy to not vote for Obama for president.--afterall he has 142 days experience in the Senate. And he proved his toughness by voting present 129 times. Now there's experience you can depend on.

Carly is more qualified to be president.

Tell you what riley85, Obama is not walking ( slowly) around claiming he knows how to win wars like your Mc Cain is. What war has John Mc cain won? Now he has Mitty running around saying he, Mc Cain deserves all the credit for the surge. JOHN MURTHA was asking everyone who would listen, to bring in more troops. And for all of your victory banners, don't you think it would be just a little smart to wait until all of our troops are out, safely before you start claiming victory. What is today, may not be tomorrow.

"Carly is more qualified to be president."

Take it from someone who worked for HP -- she's not qualified to pour p*$$ from a boot with instructions written on the heel.

I was going to suggest that riley85 ask an HP employee how qualified Carly was - and you made my point. She was a mess at HP (almost brought it to ruin).

It's was mystery why the McCain camp wants a failed exec to speak for them - but now I see. It was to get these Hillary supporters - woman-to-woman. Well, there are many more qualified, smart women on the Demcratic side who are proudly standing with Obama.

If you support Hillary's views, you will find a happy place in the Obama campaign - never in the McCain campaign.

yeah, God forbid your candidate is out of the race and you're stuck with someone else who is so close yours on most issues.

I understand that if your candidate didn't win that you'd vote against everything they stood for just to prove a point.

Brilliant.

Well said, and I would only add that Abraham Lincoln had less legislative experience than Obama did when he became president. People seem to conveniently forget that one of our greatest presidents had the least amount of experience, and that some of our worst had loads of it.

CEO Carly Fiorina rode Lucent Technologies and HP to oblivion. She's just the Geraldine Ferraro of the Republican Party.

I traded Lucent Stock Options back in the Nineties. The stock's value shrunk from the high 80's down to mere pennies. Heckuva job Carly! Sounds like you'd be qualified to be at least the Secretary of the Treasury in a McCain administration.

The top repugs already know fiorini's track record. Failure and early termination.
Of course HP paid her 20 mil to leave, but that really pisses the small investor repugs 'cause it WAS their money.
fiorini is more mccain incompetence.
