Stephen Colbert point outs something that no one seems to have noticed: Fox News' anchor Chris Wallace wasn't invited to trail Barack Obama on his trip abroad.

COLBERT: You see, in recent months, McCain boxed Obama into a corner by saying it was important that Obama visit Iraq. Checkmate. No way out of that one. But now Obama is cheating, by visiting Iraq. The good news is there's so much media attention, there's always a possibility of a huge gaffe doing irreparable damage to his campaign ...

Now I was not invited on this trip. But, that's fine. But I am not the only one who was snubbed.

DOOCY: Why are you not on Barack Obama's airplane heading to the Middle East right now?
WALLACE: Well, I called the Obama campaign several weeks ago and said that I'd like to go and my invitation has apparently been lost in the mail.
[end video]

COLBERT: Well, maybe that's what this is. Here you go. [holds up envelope] Oh my God, it's Chris Wallace's invitation to the Obama trip! They sent it to me by accident. This could be my ticket to cover Barack Obama's historic trip! All I have to do is...oh...and then people might think I was Chris Wallace. Just not worth the risk.

Watch the video:

MoveOn.org has started a petition to thank Barack Obama here.

Fake News not invited? Not a mistake at all. Only real reporters were needed.

Obama is afraid of fox news. When somone asks him a real question instead of fawning over him he tends to say stupid things. He wants to make sure the voters don't discover the true Obama until after the election.

I think you have Obama confused with McCain. For example; McCain's confusion about where Afghanastan and Pakistan are; confusion about the timeline of the awakening and the surge. There are so many I cannot possibly name them here. Your post is quite vague "he tends to say stupid things." I challenge you to name them.

Exactly how long does one have to wait until the "true" Obama is revealed? Aren't we tired of this crap by now? Haven't we seen the "true" McSame? The "true" HRC? Hell, I'd be afraid of Faux News if they asked to do a piece on me because I'm not Republican. BrighterStar (BS) what real questions are you waiting to be asked? I'm sure if they're legitimate the rest of us would want them asked too. Maybe there's something you've missed and the other folks here can fill in the blanks. Or you can simply go on cutting and pasting the same BS rhetoric over and over. Kinda like Katie Couric with her "hasn't the surge worked" question.

Bill Clinton told Chris Wallace off but the right wing press played it down by calling Clintons remarks " " not presidential ". Obama outfoxed Fox. Eventually the FOX will be treed.

Agree with your point, but you have work on your Good ole Boy cred: foxes get run to ground. Raccons, bears and possums get treed.

Would you invite someone to your house who was hostile towards you? Why would he be afraid of Fox News? He is sending a message to Fox, and I agree with him on this one.

This is not about being a house guest. He is running for president and he is unwilling to face tough questions. He wont talk to FOX as a presidential candidate, but as president he wants to talk to every dictatory in the world? God help us if he wins. There is nothing in the history of Obama that would indicate that he is capable of being president.

just wait and see.... the Faux network that lauded all that Bush and his cronies did for the last 8 years... lying on their behalf, making up & twisting stories to suit their needs.... are all coming home to roost.. like their 24/7 loops. Obama will be President, the Dems will rule the congress and senate.... the GOP will have to get rid of all the old geezers in their midst in an attempt to find fresh blood....

in other words Faux News will be irrelevant and a non-entity for at least the next 8 years.

You know what they say... Karma is a bitc* !

Snubbing Fox almost makes up for FISA. Nahhhh...only a quick apology and reversal will make that good, Mr. Constitutional Professor.

Spoken like someone who didn't actually read the FISA bill. FW, your partisanship is showing. Go read the bill and then make an intelligent, informed comment.

No, FW did not read the bill, nor does FW know anything about it I'm sure, except maybe that he/she is supposed to be mad that Obama voted for it or something. . . Read the bill.

Why would you invite entertainers & comedians on a foreign relation trip? Colbert & Stewart I would have made exception and invited one of the two but, Wallace? PLEASE!

What is shocking about Fox News is not that it is worthless, but that it is successful. Speaks volumes about a significant segment of the American people.

I only watch Faux News when I need a good laugh. I find it hard to believe that some, let's say intelligent people, watch that station all the time. I guess if you call yourself a "conservative" or "republican" you have no other choice. We all know they are watching us all the time. OK, I have to get off now; they're on to me.

Bye-bye!

They played Rev. Wright's comments on a continuous loop, they called his wife his "baby mama," they called his fist bump a "terrorist fist jab," they said he went to a madrassa, Sean Hannity continously smears Obama and his wife on a nightly basis and even when other media outlets were no longer talking about Rev. Wright, they were, they even had breaking news on his house, how much it was being paid for and his travel schedule! Why would they possibly think that they would EVER be invited. Give me a break!

misswilliams...I fully agree. Obama would be a fool to invite Faux News, which would merely sabotage his trip abroad. Besides, they're not a credible media outlet. They are lying shills for the Bush Machine.

Obama snubbed Fox News - no wonder I like him! If (and when) Obama is elected president, Fox and its moron acolytes will do nothing but bad-mouth Obama anyway, so why should he try to make nice with them? Ignoring them is the best thing for him to do; too many people are onto Fox and their lies and racism, so don't give them any coverage.

Why, all of a sudden, does FauxNews need access to an historic event to report their version?

You'll see and hear all about it on their programs, their versions, reported with a "fair-inbalanced" leaning. Was the tower in Pisa designed by a neo-con? Most photos of that edifice show it leaning to the right.

Not being there will not prevent them from covering Obama's trip, including his schedule, his statements, his comments, and the warm welcomes he receives. It bears watching.

Nothing on Fox bears watching nothing.

I can't believe that I finally got though to my father about Republicans, it's been 20yrs but he finally admitted they weren't moral after all, that was his reason for voting Republicans they were moral. I know you think it's a joke but it isn't I have been trying to get him to see the light for over 20yrs. That one little step by him may help him see the light and look at something besides Fox News and help him see that this trickle down theory doesnt work it just makes rich people richer and everyone else poorer.
