Today, President Bush and his wife, Laura, hosted the annual White House Egg Roll, a tradition that goes back to Rutherford B. Hayes' administration in 1878. The event involves thousand of children competing in the Egg Roll race, listening to musical performances, hunting for eggs and other activities. After the First Lady concluded her opening remarks, she and the President walked down to the White House lawn from the podium on the terrace. Along the way President Bush passed an Easter Bunny and, seemingly caught up in the moment, embraced the bunny, laying his head tenderly against it as he posed for a photo.

Watch it, and be sure to check out the slide show from the White House Egg Roll below the video.

I bet hardly anyone here has seen the Jimmy Stewart movie Harvey, but this situation cries out for the comparison. "I swear, a giant rabbit! Don't you see him?"

He always looks like he has "Hail to the Chief" playing in his head. In his own mind he is the resolute warrior, but who never went to war, and the defender of the liberty, but who disregards the rule of law. The strain of the contradictions is written all over his face.

I guess my question is, which one is the rabbit and which one is the President?

Twins?

Yes, one of them is a religious tool used for fictitious purposes and guises, and the other is the easter bunny.

Apparently he blew a whistle and hugged the Easter bunny. Would have been interesting only if he'd hugged the whistle then....

I'd rather the easter bunny was president.
