PHILADELPHIA, Miss. — Poison drummer Rikki Rockett was arrested on a rape warrant and his case was turned over to the district attorney's office for possible grand jury consideration, officials said Friday.

Rockett, 46, was arrested Monday at or near Los Angeles International Airport, Los Angeles police said. He was booked and released, and was awaiting an extradition decision by Mississippi prosecutors.

A woman in Mississippi filed a complaint that she was raped on Sept. 23, 2007, at the Silver Star Casino, Neshoba County sheriff's investigator Ralph Sciple said.

"The subject, Rikki Rockett, forcibly had sex with an adult in one of the hotel rooms," according to a complaint.

Sciple said the woman contacted authorities several days after the alleged attack. He did not discuss details of the case, but said his office believed the woman's complaint warranted review by the district attorney.

The casino-hotel complex in Philadelphia, about an hour northeast of Jackson, is owned by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

Rockett, whose real name is Richard Ream, did not have a listed number in the Los Angeles area and could not be reached Friday for comment.

Rockett was booked into the Los Angeles County jail under his stage name and released early Tuesday, according to jail inmate information on the county sheriff's Web site. Sciple said there was no immediate attempt to bring Rockett back to Mississippi and a decision on extradition would await action by the district attorney.

Rockett and singer Bret Michaels founded Poison, the glam-metal band with a string of hits in the 1980s, including "Talk Dirty to Me."

What an idiot if this is true. These guys never grow outta the whole 'the world's a groupie' stage, do they?

True, but they grow old and fat like everyone else. Then they can't get anyone, so they rape innocent women. Not all of them, but this jerk did. I hope that he rots in Prison!

There can't possibly be any physical evidence it sounds like...this case will be dropped quietly by the prosecutors is my guess.

What about bruises, tears and cuts? Broken bones? It depends on how violent the rape was.

With a given name like Dick Ream, I'd change my name to Rikki Rockett, too.
Unless deciding to become a porn star, instead.

Why not......I'd give it at least an equal chance of success when compared with the chances of Poison ever being big again.

So let me get this, their going to try and convict him from a report three days after the rape occured and a do it a year later, if its his word against hers they've already lost.

While anything is possible, I find this hard to believe for a variety of reasons.

First I met those guys a bunch of times over the years although granted it's been about 10 years since the last meeting, and they came across as people who don't have to worry about attracting women.

Second, they have so much pussy thrown at them they put most rock bands to shame. And I mean TO SHAME. I got to hang around Cecille when he was playing solo gigs and got to play with him and that is where I met Poison; he and they came across as some of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. We all have off days but they were having such a good time and liked everyone they met that it's hard to even imagine any of them having to force a girl to have sex. Geez if one didn't want to, then there were always about 30 to take her place. Still that way from all indications.

Third, this comes across as an opportunity that a secondary party may have put into their mind to get some bucks out of all of this. Maybe a boy friend pitched a fit and she decided to claim it was forced, or maybe he talked her into it to try and get some money out of the guy.

Who knows it may all be true, but my Bullshit 'O' Meter is going off the hook right now

You are operating off of a false belief system about rape and rapists. I am a therapist and I work with sex offenders. Here's what I know after talking with so many of them:

1. Seldom does a man rape because he "can't get any". Rape is essentially stealing sex. Some men are aroused by the theft itself; they dont want "free" sex, they want to take it. This helps them to feel powerful.

2. Some men feel entitled; they don't believe a woman has a right to say "no" to anything they want. Rape, in this case, is designed to punish her.

3. Some men are sadists; they are aroused, not by the sex itself, but by the pain and suffering they inflict on the victim.

I see a reality show coming.
"Raped by Rikki Rockett"
Twelve skanks enter... well, they all get raped.

That's disgusting. Calling women skanks...well, shows your deficient mentality.

Couldn't Brett spare one of his admiring crew form his reality show for poor Rikki?

I guess all the groupies dried up for Poison.
