THE WAR IN IRAQ IS HAVING SERIOUS NEGATIVE EFFECTS ON OUR ECONOMY and those who voted for the war (i.e. hillary) should be to blame, in part, for the state of the US economy.

Look how the WAR IN IRAQ is affecting the US economy...

$3,000,000,000� 3 billion dollars PER WEEK! That is the amount America is paying for the Iraq War PER WEEK, money that should have been used here, at home.

Add to this:

Interest. We are financing the war with borrowed money (e.g. treasuries) that carries interest; so in actuality, the war is costing the United States MORE THAN 3 billion dollars PER WEEK.

Higher oil and energy prices. Instability in Iraq is adding roughly 30 dollars per barrel as a premium.

High utility bills. Due to high oil prices, demand shifts to other sources of energy - gas, coal, etc. - and greater demand will raise the equilibrium price of all sources of energy

Our dollar is weak and getting weaker. Since we have a trade deficit and is growing in large part to the rising cost of imported oil, the value of goods and services we import exceeds the value of goods we export. Everything we buy that's made abroad will cost more, Ceteris Peribus, because the dollar is weak.

Lastly, how do you think the world views our country since the argument was made for war? The evidence was weak and circumstantial, yet we rushed into war with Iraq thanks to hillary"s authorization.

I wish someoen would clarify for me does disagreeing with something Israrel does mean you are anti semetic. Much in the same way that criticizing America means you are Unpatriotic. I want to know where these ideas are coming from are they written in a book somewhere codified in laws so that we can read it and know whats accepatble and what isnt.

Clarity is good and I applaud Chris for seeking it, I just think that man likes Obama just a little too much.

Actually he went after taht Texas State Senator to name a law that Obama had written or passed and basically ambushed the guy-- and at the same time gave the Hillary supporter a total pass as she talked about "aal the things" Hillary had done to help chldren without demanding some specific examples....I thought that was really lame and biased on his part in Hillary's favor --Hillary even quoted it in one of the debates-event hough it was totally misleading-- (just because one dumb Texan was ill prepared said nothing about Obama's legislative accomplishments -which actually dwarf any of Hillary's lame legislative efforts)

So it was good that he challenged this sort of half-a&&ed attempt to smear Obama by a clear pro Hillary "pundit"

I think Chris was right on the money. Especially knowing that Crystal McCreary Anthony's boss at BET (Black Entertainment Network) is one of the 20 Hillary 'rich fat cats" that sent the threatening letter to speaker Nancy Pilosi. Ms. Anthony was clearly trying to sling mud at Obama for her boss, and Chris called her on it. Good for him!

Matthews rules.

One time my brother in law went off on a rant about black people, and everyone just sat at the table and acted like it wasn't happening. We carved the turkey and ate the dressing and smiled at each other the way people do when someone they know makes a real dumb mistake. Barack Obama is not responsible for the racial and political views or statements of every person he has ever met, any more than I am responsible for my brother in law's stupid remarks. Rachel and Danny, you gotta spend your time more wisely or I won't bother reading your posts any more.

Gossiping about what is going on inside each campaign is a bit different than repeating an insinuation without facts of any kind of racial, ethnic, religious or other bias by any of the candidates or their campaigns. Chris Matthews is smart enough to know the difference, and tough enough to make it known. The fact that anyone wants to defend the guest that behaved this way is truly mindboggling.

The only time Matthews's balls are hard is when he listen to Obama speak...the rest of the time the best he can do is softballs especially when it comes to interviewing Obama surrogates.

conservatives divide....this is a conservative tactic...people will try and pin it on obama but the people arising all of these "notions" that the obama campaign is racist....which gets me cuz his campaign is for unity...but ahay.....just recognize its the conservatives people....they want us bickering like this

I really, really, REALLY wish Andrea Mitchell had similarly "grilled" Clinton comm. dir. Howard Wolfson yesterday when he was on her MSNBC news show spouting the same old lies and distortions about Obama and the FL, MI primary mess. Instead, she allowed him to completely trash Obama with false statements about about how these states had held "fair" primary elections, and that they should be counted as such!

It was all completely false and misleading, and she said NOT ONE WORD to counter or question his claims. It showed a disgusting lack of any journalistic integrity, and was basically a 5 minute Clinton ad by Wolfson (of course that's his job, but what the HELL is Mitchell's job??).
